DA02 no phone sound at all, phone paired ok

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

New here, I only installed my UK AR2 (firmware upgraded to 4.16) a week ago. Questions that I haven't found answers to currently:

Current game over is no sound at all using the phone (iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.3). Radio works after a fashion - very poor FM reception even with a switched signal splitter clamped directly onto the red 12V feed, iPOD works nicely and I can hear that beep every time I press a button. When I make a call using the AR2 it says 'dialling' then 'talking' and no matter what I do I get silence. Phone is paired, phone book accessible etc. If I ramp the volume right up I can hear the ipod or radio bleeding through.

No keyboard on maps but I get one for Contacts. Reading around this appears to be an issue with AppRadio 2.2.0?

Grounded the parking brake on the black earth wire for the unit, doesn't appear to make any difference? I've got safe mode turned off.

Anyone else seen this? Nothing from Pioneer's 'help' desk obviously, they appear to be ignoring this stopgap model while they chase the DA110....

Cheers

Witchy (who might be making a trip back to Halfrauds)

  • 2 weeks later...

I have had the same unit for 2 days now, and have some wierd issues, similar in what you have described. Not sure the firmware is at the latest.

My main concern is that my phone gets too hot to hold and then shuts down.

Mine will be going back to Halfords if this cannot be resolved. PIoneer customer support say it's not a Head Unit or App problem, just that the phone is doing lots of things and generates heat.

Not sure how that explains other peoples expereince of changing the head unit solving the overheating problem.
