Second: welcome, I would start here Third: what cable are you using? if your like the other thousand people who didnt bother to read the manual or pioneers website, your probably just using the wrong cable. most of the pioneer units do not just use a standard USB sync cable. most of them use a cable that has USB for control and another connector for delivering sound and video http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/AVH-X5500BHS_OwnersManual010213.pdf page 48 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/AVH-X5500BHS when using the wrong cable, it usually looks like it is playing because the USB is transfering all of the track information and controls, but since there is no AV plug to connect, it is just dead silent...
