krewzlo
I have a z150 and when using navigation the miles are correct but the eta time is way off. Any way to fix it? Right now on my trip I have 240 miles to go but the eta is 6 hours from now. We are going 65mph so should only take 3.5 hours or so. I have the settings for freeways and highways set at the speed limits in my state. Any thoughts would be appreciated
stevenj24k
i noticed the same thing. you can adjust the speed limits in the settings as you mentioned. but i've done that, and noticed that it doesn't really change much. pretty lame IMHO. the basic nav in my stock jeep HU which i replaced was a lot more accurate - as is google or apple maps. VBLUE42
FYI Apple maps does the same thing so there must be a logical explanation as I have seen several different navi apps do this.
krewzlo
It sucks, all of the cheap portable garmins, tom toms etc I have had were pretty accurate they also showed the current speed limits where this one does not. Spending this kind of coin it should do everything a $100 can.

Indeed. I was thinking about antenna positioning ,signal strength, VSS wiring as possible causes. Like most AVIC owners I'm always awed/pissed at how much better our phones are compared Avic units. Still it would be nice if we could actually explore this issue. I've heard good things about better quality GPS antenna's.
