Lydus
Hey. I have been reading on this forum for quite a while now and and it has always been very useful. It has answered all my questions but one... How to get TMC working. I'm using a F900BT with the hacked 4.001 hybrid firmware (http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7403675/Pioneer_AVIC_F900BT_F700BT_4.001_hybrid_firmware). As far as I understand TMC should work on the F900BT, right? When I press the traffic button it says that TMC is available, but I don't get any updates (and believe me, here in the Netherlands we sure have traffic). I'm not sure what to do about it, or what to try. Suggestions?
Lydus
Okay, I got TMC working. My sys.txt was set to UC instead of EW. Changing that enabled TMC. Unfortunately enabling TMC somehow broke my bluetooth (if i check the version of the software it doesnt show anything, switching bt on and off causes it to fail and disable completely. I have tried changing the COM ports as suggested by matyana here. That hasn't fixed it. I also tried updating the bt firmware to 330, which also didn't work. I'm going to be playing around a bit with the COM ports a bit and see what happens. I also read about someone having succes with older bt firmware, I'll also give that a try. I'd love to hear suggestions, since I'm kind of in the dark on this one.
foxterrier
Hi, I had exactly same problem and did extensive reading. I also changed the sys.txt which as you've discovered reenabled TMC, but no bluetooth. It would also not let me update bluetooth firmware. There is a thread which suggests deleting your iGo user folder, but as I was fiddling around on my head unit I discovered a reset facility, deleting user prefs. I tried this, and after reboot had to reenter prefs, but my bluetooth and TMC both now work.
Lydus
What worked for me in the end: I replaced tel.exe with the original version (non hacked). Now both TMC and bluetooth work. You do get a few annoying downsides like: the screen goes to map mode on an incoming call, and you can get the navigation warning on booting when have switched the engine off while on the map screen. Oh well.
