willcycle
I believe the new NEX series of Pioneer head units now supports Flac playback. Anyone have an idea of how this capability may be added to the Z series? Thanks, Will

Anyone have an idea of how this capability may be added to the Z series? Thanks, Will Directly? I don't think it can be done. I run a Nexus 7 with a USB DAC plugged into the Z150's aux input and use Poweramp as the media player. With that combination, I can play just about any music file. The downside is that I can't control the Nexus through the steering wheel controls. The upside is that I have current nav data with far superior nav program options. willcycle
It should be technically feasable. The Flac decoder is a single .exe file so the only challenge is how to tell the OS to run it for Flac files.

They haven't made a habit of adding new features to discontinued units.
