jdmeyes
Anyone know if the D3 uses the same wiring harness that plugs into the back as the D1? If so, how different is it? I want to change my D1 to the D3 but I don't want to re-splice all the wiring again (my car has no wiring harness that's compatible with aftermarket stereos, unfortunately). crapz1
I would assume that its the same. I'll be getting my D3 and replacing my D1 this weekend. I'll update once I finish the swap.
cntrylvr79
It's different. Match the colors, those are the same.
jdmeyes
Thanks, if the colors are the same, then it shouldn't be too bad.
cntrylvr79
Yes the colors on 98% of aftermarket radios made in the last 8 years is the same. Yellow - constant red - switched +12v black - ground blue - power antenna blue/white - amp turn on black/white - amp ground orange - illumination orange/white - dimmer orange/black - negative dimmer brown or yellow/black - cell mute white - left front + white/black - left front - gray - right front + gray/black - right front - green - left rear + green/black - left rear - purple - right rear + purple/black - right rear - Incidentally that is probably the only universal thing in the car audio world. On a side note to any wanna be installers in the group. That list would be a good thing to remember.
