I have a factory amplified system, with an amplified sub, when I turn my vehicle on, the sub makes a thump sound. But after that it sound great. I bought the d3. the dash kit, and the harness with the rca's for the sub from Best buy. do you guys know what can I do to get rid of the thump? Thanks for the help. MisFit
3k ohm resistor on blue/white amp turn on lead
RazorX
I had the same problem with mine (in a '06 Mustang) and I used a 12v to 5v voltage regulator on the remote/amp turn-on lead. You can get them at Radio Shack for $1.59. Would a resister work also? The reason there is a "POP" is because the head unit is sending a 12v current and the amp is expecting a 5v (or actually 3v?) current. This is why I, and others, used a voltage regulator. How does the resister correct this problem?
cntrylvr79
The same way the regulator does. Drops the voltage.
mlammert
I used this in my 03 Aviator... http://www.sminntech.com/techai.html The "creator" of this is a moderator in the Z1/2 forum of this board... I built it based on his specs, but I think you might be able to buy one from him as well... I love my 03 Aviator and the D3 is awesome in it... Good luck, Mark
