tmiles2246
I've got the Z1 working great in my SRX, and I have the DICE i-VW-R Interface setup on my 06 Jetta factory CD radio. The DICE has limited control features. I'm looking for another brand/type of interface for an 06 Jetta that will preform better than the Dice. Allowing for complete or better control through the head unit and possibly text on a non-navigational factory radio. Also, I have the 3.5mm input jack inside the glove box to connect the iPod from the ear plug jack to the factory radio. With the 3.5mm cable I can play music through the HU with the controls of the iPod without the charging feature. I'm wondering if I use a 3.5mm cable that has the ipod adapter on the other end, http://www.myradiostore.com/auxadapters ... apter.html I'll be able to charge the ipod and be able to control the ipod from the factory radio? Anyone ever us this interface? http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-243-111- ... 1-vw6.aspx
PaisanNYC
Unfortunately the PIE adapter from MRS (MyRadioStore, which by the way is a great place to shop) will not charge the iPod. The 3.5mm jack will not output sufficient power to charge a digital music player.
tmiles2246
Without purchasing a lot of cables, I'm thinking the 3.5 iPod Adapter Cable 3.5-POD from Precision Interface Electronics is going to work like the basic 3.5 x 3.5 cable out of the ear phone jack on top of the ipod.
