Vman
I was wondering how fast it takes for the navigation in the D3 to start working (finding satellites) after starting up your car? I'm a real estate agent and I make a lot of stops to see various houses and I need the navigation to start routing me to my next house pretty quickly. My current portable Magellan takes about 20 seconds or so. Thanks.
necro
Once the NAV boots up, it's rather fast. Less than 20 seconds. The longest time is when it's first booting up. Takes around 30 seconds.
Itchy
Maybe you should get a remote starter?

Vman
Thanks for the information. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm glad to hear it's quick after startup.
necro
It is indeed. In fact, the the iPod starts playing almost immediately even while it's booting everything up. I was very impressed with that. The gps acquires signal really fast. I've never experienced any problem (much better than the GPS on my BB 8800, all though it is very good but slow).
Taboolie
My experience with the D1 at least is that while the NAV is locking on to the satellites, it will still use the onboard gyro sensor's combined with the VSS connection and road locking to give you a pretty accurate location even without any "gps" lock on. Mind you, there have been times when I first start out, it thinks I'm driving through a corn field.. but it can't be perfect
