help with 93 accord se

Recommended Posts

here is the set-up/situation:

1993 accord se sedan with bose sytem. added a pioneer deh-4800 and aftermarket speakers using the harness to run through the factory amp and had terrible alternator whine. grounded the stereo to chassis and the factory amp to chassis and it helped a little bit.

my friend finally had time to bring it over to me to try and rewire to fix problem and it didn't do a whole lot of good.

now it is currently wired as follows:

rear speakers direct to deck with new wire

front speakers ran wire back to factory amp, found leads that went to front door speakers, tested with 9-volt, cut and used new wire to run to back of deck - amp harness left unplugged

power - both constant and switched from factory harness

ground - still grounded to chassis

thought all was good till started it up and the alternator whine is still there.

I know the deck is good because it is the one I was using in my truck before I got my D2. The factory amp is out of the loop and not even powered. The speaker leads are run along each side to the back as far away from wire bundles as possible.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks - Erik
