srim23 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Share Posted August 24, 2007 Bad IC output, open ground? can anyone tell me what this means will the internal amp still work on the unit? this is what a shop locally told me was wrong with it. they want 200 bucks to fix it. but if the internal amp still works i have someone that wants to buy it. any help would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks Quote Link to post Share on other sites
blackbox Posted August 27, 2007 Report Share Posted August 27, 2007 IC stands for integrated circuit. the shop said ic output which means that a microchip for the output went bad. it is a lot of work to replace meaning that they have to take off the chip with a solder gun and reconnect each pin on the chip to the correct hole on the board. below is a pic of the ic chip. the window in the center showing the white shows that it is a ic chip. are they 100% sure that its the ic output? check another audio store if u can? is the unit still under warranty? sorry for the bad news man! good luck on the situation.
