dancook
*I posted this under the wrong model forum initially, if an administrator can delete it from there, please. Hello guys, I just purchased a used z140 from ebay... the guy boxed the thing up surrounded by shredded paper and pretty much nothing else to protect the unit. After clearing shredded paper from every nook and cranny for 30 minutes, I wired it up to find out that the lcd is cracked. Only the bottom half of the screen is working with the other half showing the crack and just white. It seems to work ok other than the screen. Do you guys have any experience with screen replacement on this particular model? I searched but didn't find much. I did find a very helpful service manual. Thanks in advance for any info you can offer! Dan Cook Greenville, SC
dancook
I ordered and received my new LCD screen for my Z140... I just wanted to add that it is fairly simple to replace. It did require an antistatic strap and dealing with the ribbon connectors is quite tedious, but she's working like brand new now.
Expreso50
Hi Dancook, hey I have the same problem you had, my LCD is broken, I found a screen replacement on ebay for around $70 but I wanna make sure Im going to be able to replace it before I buy it. Is there anyway you can point me to where I can find some info on how to do it or if you could just tell me how you did it that would be great. Thanks in advance.
