09TahoeFD Posted March 3, 2016 Report Share Posted March 3, 2016 Hey guys, new to the site; Installing the 8100 NEX on my 09 Chevy Tahoe w/ stock radio, no OnStar. Have done many radio installs before, but ran into a few dead ends with this one; My stock radio had ASL and auto-illumination when the headlights came on. Does this mean the Harness I got should just plug and play, or do I have to find a VSS wire and an illumination wire separately? If so, does anyone know where I could find those two leads? Vertablue Posted March 12, 2016 Report Share Posted March 12, 2016 You will need the proper adapter to make this a plug and play. I have the Pac radio Pro 5 but I also have the Bose system. Check out crutchfield.com their site will show you what you need. Afterwards just go into the menu screen and set illumination on auto, will then sync with headlights.
