How to update to 1.11 on 8000NEX

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone !

I apologize ahead of time for I know this has probably already been covered somewhere else in this forumn (I can't find it).  I'm having major issues upgrading my firmware on my 8000NEX to 1.11 from 1.10.  Can anyone give me some instructions as to what I'm supposed to do with my flash stick and the file I downloaded from Pioneer ? Thanks in advance !  -Colin

Keep clicking into the downloaded zip file until you get to the folder labeled "AVIC5000NEX". That is the folder you want to put on your SD card. Make sure there is nothing else on the card prior to putting the folder on it. (I always go so far as to reformat the SD Card just to be sure.)

And I recommend using an SD Card instead of USB stick.

When I put the "AVIC5000NEX" folder on the root of the sd card, it gives me this pop up error....

"Update File Version Error

Please check the version of update file and try again."

What can I do to fix this ? Thanks !

I've never seen this before. But "Version Error" would lead me to doublecheck firmware revision levels both on what is already installed on the unit and what you're trying to install.  What firmware revision is your unit currently at, using the first two pages of this document as reference:

That would make me think either you already have the version you are trying to install, OR, you downloaded the wrong file...

Make sure you got it from here...
