upgrading/ connection

Hello everyone,

 

I have searched left and right, came to the conclusion that the note 5 is worth crap when it comes to mirroring with my avic-7000nex. 

 

My questions are, is there anyway to mirror, I've seen it done through Wi-Fi, but that takes away your internet on the phone doesn't it?

 

If that doesn't work, is there anyway to upgrade from 7000nex to 7100nex without having to buy the unit all over again? i saw a post that they were working on upgrading the 8000 to 8100.

If that's the case, can i upgrade my 7000nex to 8000nex and go from there?
