NA AVIC-Z2 in European Mazda 3.

Hi guys,

 

Please forgive the noobiness of the question but is it possible to install a North American AVIC-Z2 in a European Mazda 3? I don't really care about RDS and DVD region coding but would like to clear the following points:

 

1. Is the installation procedure in NA / EU cars the same? (same wire color coding, voltage etc.). For example is the wire layout between an EU Mazda 3 hatchback the same as the exact same NA vehicle? If I use the provided harness (Scosche MA03B - from Sonicelectronix) will it work flawlessly?

 

2. Will the GPS receiver work at all (even if there is no built in EU mapping on the Z2) and can I possibly get the European maps from some source?

 

3. If I somehow find the maps for the HD3BT, can I pass them over to the z2 and have it fully working in Greece?

 

Any other thoughts and advice would really be appreciated
