4660NEX - HDMI and iPhone

I have a Pioneer DMH-4660NEX car radio. I'm trying to get the HDMI source working with my iPhone. I've followed your videos and have just done the video bypass successfully. However, when I connect my iPhone to the HDMI source, it just shows a dark screen with some static. Could it be a bad cable (it's a new one), interference, other? The adapter is a genuine Apple part. Are there any recommended Micro HDMI to HDMI cables folks use with good success?

Firmware version: 3.0
Video bypass: enabled (Set On)

I also have a Maestro RR connected in my Ram 1500 truck.
