jroth142
Can anyone shed some light on the location of the VSS wire in an 04' Maxima SE w/BOSE for me please?? In the process of hooking up my D3 and I have no idea where this wire is located. Thanks
MisFit
green or brown at the unified meter and a/c amp pin 26. its the first module below the display in the dash
jroth142
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately from what I can tell, it looks like pin 26 has a red wire in it. Pin 27 is green but not 26. I'm about 90% sure I'm looking at the right thing here but any additional help would be great. Thanks
rockinrotho
don't need the VSS wire if you cannot find it whe using the D3
jroth142
I was under the impression that the nav system wouldn't be as accurate if this isn't hooked up...is this right? I'm pretty sure I found the right module, just not sure on the right wire and pin location. Thanks
jroth142
Also, one other thing. Sorry for the dumb question but I'm assuming I want to splice into the wire going INTO the module and not going out? The only reason I wasn't sure on this is because I'm assuming that the SSV wire also go to the radio wire harness and I didn't know how all that wiring worked. So I just wanted to double check. rockinrotho
just as accurate, well within a couple of feet
rockinrotho
also if you have never done one of these pay someone to put it in......you don't need the hassle of cutting the wrong wire etc.....
jroth142
I've actually got everything else hooked up and the unit seems to be working just fine. I just wasn't sure about the VSS wire. If it's really not that big of deal though, I may not even worry about it. Thanks
jroth142
So if the VSS wire is not hooked up will that mainly effect ETA's and things like that? Does the unit still track speed through the GPS or would I need to connect the wire for that too? If I could get a definate location and wire color for the VSS I think I could do the hookup up, just haven't found it yet. Apparently my bypass isn't working correctly now though. After I started driving I got an error message about the parking brake lead not being hookied up correctly...suppose I have a loose connection somewhere : (
