Yeah, but most of the times you can custom fit and make a dash and put it in the car, so those aren't always accurate. Did you hear anything else from the pro shop?

I went to the pro shop on Saturday to have the AVIC-Z1 installed in my 2003 Explorer....see my story here:

Also asked about how they would install it in my 2006 Avalon that already has the factory navigation system, and they still said they could do it....

but, like I said, you'll be losing some stuff if you replace that screen that comes with the Avalon....that screen location is the same screen location that comes in all Avalon's, whether you have the factory nav or not. It's in the same place, but the factory nav screen I'm thinking is a better screen.

If I was you, I would find another place to install the AVIC-Z1 other than replace that screen that comes with the Avalon. So, you don't lose climate functions etc.

I've decided to keep my factory nav in the 2006 Avalon and just deal with the stupid things that are wrong with it....and, I'll be adding Bluetooth to it down the road.

Hmm, yeah I don't want to lose anything on the avalon, did they say that was possible? I want to keep the little screen and put the navigation in another place like where the cd is player, but I want to keep the little screen if possible.

I'm sure they could do that...keeping the little screen and install the AVIC-Z1 somewhere else.

but, looking at where that cd player is....it's curved....and if you put it there, it'll be tough cause of that curve.....

you might be better off getting a different unit (single bin) and putting that where the cassette is....plus you'll have a cover. But, then again, that factory stereo will still be there....hmmmm...I dunno now that I'm thinking about it....that factory stereo is curved like I said, and that's going to be tough.

Hmm well I don't know what to do since the main reason I'm buying the avalon is for the good car and put the z1 in it, because the car is very spacey.The other option I had was getting the lincoln zephyr which is small compared to the avalon. But I'm going to call pioneer and see what they say.
