Thought I would add my findings too. My 6200NEX with firmware 1.04 behaves exactly the same as your 8200 when I use my 80GB ipod video (5th gen). Always starts back at the first song and will not remember the playlist it was last using. my ipod nano and iphone function fine but don't have my large collection. I switched to a 128GB usb drive and have my playlists on it setup in folders.

I wish I saw your post before I attempted this 5.1 update. My setup is the same, Z110 and the iPod cable CD-IU50. I saw the new iPod app icon and my old 80GB classic would no longer work. Oh well, back to 5.0 and another 20 minutes down the drain.
