I installed the microphone to the back of my N2.. to the wire that said "Mic input" on it... and now there is no microphone icon at the bottom left hand corner of my screen... I really want this microphone to work.. i dunno what could be wrong.. im using the 60mt software.. and also.. i even pulled the power out and plugged it in.. still nothing.. can some1 pls help me out? thanks

If the mic plug is in the right hole then the icon should be there even if the mic doesn't work.
Try an earpiece with that same size plug. Look here:
