How is this?

http://www.sminnick.com/AviatorRadio/

It installed real nice in my 03 Lincoln Aviator. I even used a PAC SWI-PS to save my steering wheel control!

I always hated the stupid Lincoln door that drops down over the radio. I thought it was stupid and worthless. Who would steal a stock ford radio. Now, I love it, I can close it and it doesn't look like I'm "trying" to hide anything. It's just what was built into the truck.

This is in a 2001 Galant, not 100% done in the pic though

Looks like a "remove before flight" pitot tube cover in those pics. Am I right?
Posted May 02, 2006 · 22:24 UTC#12
Close, Its a remove before flight safety pin from an ejection seat. (What I do to pay for the toys lol)

Ahhh, nice.
Must have the new James Bond Edition Crown Vic!

LOL yeah thats it. By the way, thanks for this forum!

Hey 03 Crown Vic guy... How did you get the vehicle dynamics to change to the carbon fiber and the different gages, mine is brushed metal and different gages, and I don't like them. I want a wood background. Maybe I should read the manual.

And I used to have a 96 CV HPP, which I put a push bar, crappy steel rims, ugly hub caps and a scanner. Was the best car I ever had. Scared people on a daily basis. And I wanted to change the double din radio in that too, but the radio was a weird shape in those years and wouldn't take a double din replacement, only a did. Did you need to do a lot of modifications to get that to fit? Mine? I would have needed to cut into the air chamber for the heating system.

I honestly don't remember how I changed it lol...I did whatever the manual said lol. Only thing I had to do was cut a little lip of plastic off the top and bottom of the opening and it slid right in. They changed the airduct on the 03+ cars, pre 03 you would have to change that peice of duct....a real PITA lol.

It isn't. I just have the same jpeg on the Z1 as the phone.
Posted May 13, 2006 · 01:07 UTC#20
Ahhh, ok. That's simple enough.
Posted May 13, 2006 · 01:26 UTC#21
I know it's not a z1, but that thing wasn't available when I got the d1 so here's mine. It's an older pic of my d1 in my 03 Galant. I'm redoing the dash though, since I'm going to put an alpine cda9855 where the ac controls are in the pic.
