I believe multiple people are working this, including myself. Hardest part is getting a fresh image from a Z3 to play with. It's coming, watch the stickys at the top of this section...

Sweet, Yeah I was pretty sure someone was working on it. I just was wanting an "official" word on it . Thanks guys for all the hard work that's put in on modding and upgrading.

i was just wondering if any one knew of any significant differences between the z2 and z3.

I'm hearing of voice command stuff, Like track switching etc... Maybe someone with one can shed some light on this!

Sorry guys, no image yet but I'm still communicating with a number of folks who have access to a Z3.

If anyone else out there thinks they may be able to provide the image, IM me; we'll get it tested and out to the forum members.

Cant wait, I think its time to finally upgrade, still got my Z1, but need the new maps.

This may be a dumb one...but can I go from the Z1 image directly to a Z3 image once it's available...?

I would bet good money that the upgrade would work the same as the one from the Z1 to the Z2. The trick is someone getting the Z3 virgin image and playing with it. There might be some patching needed but should not be too bad. Hardware from Z3 looks identical to Z1/Z2 so this seems like a maps and Gracenote update, plus maby some voice features.

I did the Z1 to Z2 upgrade using a 2nd large HD, so I would recommend that method to ensure you do not mess up your working drive.

Now we are all waiting on the TIB or ISO for the Z3...

I just put it in my Z2, and it went through the update. So far I see no difference, but I have not driven around yet. I do know my neighborhood is still not on the map (which really sucks). My neighborhood is about 2 years old.

I will let you know more after I take it for a drive.

Can you post the platform version and HDD application version from your unit? Rather than waiting for the free version I'm thinking of just doing the ebay thing, just want to make sure it's different from my Z2.

Hope this is what you were asking for, now can someone tell me what this means?
