Hi,

Do you know if F series supports DVD-Audio??? Is it HARD DRIVE based? If so, how much??

Also, you have mentioned that the only difference with Z2 is the VEHICLE DYNAMIC DISPLAY....Just wondering...what does that mean? Thanks....

The 900BT supports DVD Audio. It's flash based, no hard drive. They also removed the vehicle dynamics display. If you don't know, it was the screen that showed your G-Force/angle/cornering/etc.

Dang,

Looks Like my Z2 is going on ebay pretty soon before the general public sees this beauty. With the ability to update POIs so easily, this one looks like the one to get.

Are there any arguements out there on why to stay with the Z series before I start putting my factory radio back in for the time being?

Only that the Z has a larger screen, can store some music on the HDD, and has the vehicle dynamic display.

Well ebay it is. The Z2 was great, but if I can get some kind of return on it still than I better sell it now. That's the problem with technology. There's always something better coming out and you'll be trying to keep up throughout your life.

Looks like this is the way Pioneer is going with the SD format for maps and such. The Z3 may be the last in the Z series, or not. Just speculation which could further be argued do to the lack of change (besides maps) from the z2 to z3.

to me the SD card is a reason I will not be looking at the F series. I like the hard-drive and the bigger screen and the lack of bad microsoft ideas like MSN direct :D

so far....im in on the pioneer f90bt wagon.

no reason to not get it....yet!!

3" smaller? eh...i can live with that.

lets see how things get as they start rollin it out

$1200 fo the top of the line f?

thats cheaper than a z!

Questions-

1-being that it will use msn direct for traffic, etc..does this mean the xm nav traffic is done or will be an option?

2-Premiers f90bt will be the z equivelent? meaning top of the line? why wouldnt pioneer put it under its name instead of its subdivision?

3- will it use the same interfaces- GM onstar, pac swips, etc..?

1. Things don't look good for XM NavTraffic. It was my understanding that MSN is a replacement for NavTraffic, but you can still receive XM of course.

2. The Premier unit has higher level audio outputs and a included iPod cable. Also, Premier products have a better warranty.

3. Yes, it uses the same connections as the current units.

whats wrong with MSN direct? I saw that as a nice option. I see a one time fee of a $129 being better then the xm deal. But i dont care for xm. I can listen to cd if need be. I do however like sirius and there OLD country station, the XM one sucks. But the only reson i know that is because sirius comes with my Dish tv service

I what do you mean the NAV will be flashed bases? will it be on a SD card that you have to leave in the unit or do you mean it will be on a internal chip.

Can you put music on the SD card and listen to it, or will it just be for updates

I was wondering how pioneer was able to have a Top of the line F unit come in at $1200 yet the Zs are $2000 msrp. guess we know why the HDD was left out

The F series has internal flash memory. You do not have to leave the SD Card in. It's only for music/pics/videos and updates.

This question is about USB. is it another adaptor we have 2 purchase or built in? Next question: will this series allow us 2 search through music by providing a qwerty keyboard or we have scroll through all?

It's built in, but you have to buy the cable. (it's included with the Premier) You can pull up your music using VoiceBox, no need for a keyboard.

Does anyone know what kind of harness it will use? Same as D3 hopefully for my sake! Prolly not though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, is that a 2nd gen xB in the video? Also it looks actually flush mount with the dash... No mounting kit side pieces?

Thanks

Does it support dual-zone for my monitor in the back?

PLEASE tell me it supports album artwork?

Yes, it does. I'm pretty sure I said that earlier.

it wasnt answered in my earlier question-

-whats up with a zune interface?

-will it use the the same rca(white) and power (black) harness as the d3's?

Not sure about the zune. I can't give you a definite answer on the harness since I didn't see it, but I was told it's very similar to the D3.

Hi,

- Does it have built-in MICROPHONE for Phone/Voice capabilities or is it an external wired connection??

- does it support JPEG files from any sources (CD/DVD/SD/USB)???

Posted Apr 24, 2008 · 03:27 UTC#46

It supports an external mic, but also has one built in.

Not sure about the jpeg support. In the press release it just talks about music and mp4 video off of the SD card. I would imagine there should be some kind of slide show function. My Kenwood DNX5120 has that function for all types of sources (DVD, CD, USB).

Does this have the XM/Sirius tuner built in? Or do you still have to buy the tuners seprate? If yes will the current tuners for the Z2 work?

Posted Apr 24, 2008 · 14:41 UTC#48

Anyone know the screen's resolution? Says its WVGA but that is very vague.

Posted Apr 24, 2008 · 16:59 UTC#49

Nobody makes a car deck with sirius or XM built-in and I would say its safe to assume they won't until the merger gets straightened out. You should be fine with the current ones
