son of a, I just installed the DNX5120, this looks sweet. They took care of stuff missing on the D3.

Same boat as you man, I've had my 5120 for like 3 weeks. Going on ebay soon.

Also, found the Dutch version of the quick start guide on the Pioneer Euro site. http://www.service.pioneer-eur.com/peeservice/RegistrInstrMan.nsf/(CountDownloadinInstructionManuals3)?openagent&ID=377AE3249272B673C125743A004048F8&Attachment=MAN-900700-QSG-DU.pdf

It's a bit different showing a different icon set and map appearance (f700 perhaps) as well as some screenshots different from the English quick start guide.

I know, lol. I said in the last sentence of my post that there were some differences in the Dutch version that some might be interested in seeing. Maps, icons, etc. Thanks anyway though.

I think I will stick with my Z series and my D3. I bought two 1/2 din dvd/media players for my navigator and my sc400. It has a USB and a SD card slot. I can pop in one of my 5 sd cards that are 4 GB each. It holds plenty of video/movies/pics. I like my HDD in my Z and the bigger screen. I hate small screens, one of the biggest reasons I sold my 2001 Cadillac DTS was the 5 inch nav screen was so small versus the 2003 DTS with the 7 inch widescreen. Anyone selling there Z series let me know I will buy it from you thru paypal or give me the ebay auction number so I can try to win it. Thanks

i have several on a disc including a Windows XP navigation loading, Iphone, windows desktop etc...

makes my passengers think theyre real.

Pretty cool.

Hey, bro...

What is that device with USB/SD that you have beneath your d3? what are the functions and what's the model? I'm curious if that'll allow playback of Divx, MPEG movies through USB/SD slots? Thanks for sharing. :)

I hope the 1.5 million POI is just for Europe!

I asked my installer today when he thought he would be getting them... he said could be end of this month or sooner... he placed the order and said they took it.. I mean if they already released it in Europe why not here..

hay LuScola,

Give me the info on that 1/2 din it looks and souns good.

Posted May 04, 2008 · 18:16 UTC#117

...this proves I was right. Pioneer has long planned to get rid of the AVIC-D3. That's why they're not properly supporting it with map updates, are offering $300 discounts to get rid of their stocks of AVIC-D3s, and have blatantly told many of us on this site that they have no intention of fixing all the buggy, prototype-quality mistakes they made with the AVIC-D3's software (e.g., horrible Bluetooth functionality, messy, non-sensical interface and menus).

Pioneer ought to give us all credit towards the new unit if we trade in our old AVIC-D3s for a GOOD unit, which this new one appears to be.

Has any anyone seen or heard how the interface for the new F-series will look like?

I have the D3 right now and one of my biggest issue is the lack of information displayed on the Sirius screen.

I have looked at all screen shot and I can’t seem to find one for the Sat. radio.

According to JasonH, yes it's been fixed. Page 2 of this thread.
