So what is the status from Crutchfield?

Ok i am NOW on the fence. I was with in a week of buying a z2 but now i dont know if i should hold off and get the F900BT.

 

You being one of the few to see it.... feel it..... sensual play with the buttons..... what would you do get the z and never look back or wait for the F

The ONLY reason I can think of to get the Z2 would be the vehicle dynamics display. If you don't care about that, go for the F Series.

What sort of vehicle dynamics can the Z2 display? Also, do you know if the the F series will have the capability to display vehicle dynamics in the future?

The Z, N, and D series will do mph, voltage, g forces, lateral g, time, slope, and compass.

The F-series isn't even out yet, so I think it would be unwise to start guessing about its future capabilities

Online dealers aren't authorized to carry Premier by Pioneer.

 

Where did you hear that from? I've never heard that before and can't find anything supporting that on the Pioneer website. I'd really like to know. If that's the case, then I can stop spending time searching the internet for an F90BT from an authorized internet dealer.

So what now we have to wait until June... before it showed 5-20-08 now they are showing June... really sucks...

Looks like it still starts in May depending on what model. The one in- dash says 5/27. Can't tell which ones they are though.

Those release dates look to be the release dates for additional videos. If you click the one that says "Change of Plans", it plays a video. So it looks like the others are placeholders for more videos, and the dates are when they will release them.

The video is pretty cool, wish there was more though!

Agree with CitizenX on the probable meaning of those dates on the videos.

But as far as the current video they put out there.....not impressed. It's video more of the guy and everything else than the AVIC-F. I understand it's a promotional video, but they should have focused a little more on the unit than the car seats and the guy.

Quick question... The NAV system that comes with my car (I didn't get the NAV) shows average miles per gallon and things like that. Can any of the Pioneers be able to do that?

Pioneer is taking a direct chapter from Microsoft Zune (and others) who had weekly updated teaser videos leading to the actual release. It looks like we'll get one video per week through June 10th.

The technical term for this is "hype".

The original press release clearly stated a June 2008 release. The main area with all of the videos also states a June 2008 release. The dates on the video thumbnails are definitely the video release dates. This will give a teaser video every Tuesday through June 10th with a release date of probably June 17th. This seems the most logical IMHO...

Anybody know what the internal amp specs will be for the F90BT? Crutchfield shows the F900 at only 14w rms per channel.

Sounds about right. Most brands are 12-18 rms

Have been looking at various double DIN options for a while now and came across the F900bt yesterday! I am sold. It does everything I want it to.

FWIW, spoke to Pioneer UK yesterday and they're sticking by their mid-June spiel.

Was wondering if anyone knew what the security/anti-theft set up is? If there is one? Does the face plate come off?

And a strange one... are these Pioneer units possible to debadge..? Thinking it may be possible to make it look factory to deter prying eyes.

Could you imagine if all the hollographic designs really jumped out at you? Cool, hellz yeah. Safety hazard, definitely. Man I really want this thing. I doubt if anyone will buy a 7 month old D3. Only time will tell.
