I will upload it to Rapidshare and Megaupoad. With two routes we should be good to go.

 

In the past I have had sustained downloads from Megaupload of 700kbs with bursts of 1mbs, that is pretty fast. I am not sure about Rapidshare but I am sure it is at least on par if not better. With two places to get it I think everyone should be good to go. I will leave them there as long as I can, years if they allow it. No one will ever have this problem again. Is there any digital rights infringement that I shoulld be worried about? If so I will have to create a new account on Megaupload with a false address ect. It will still get there, no worries...

Based on my experience, Rapidshare can go up to 2m down. Again this is my case, not sure other people. I used Megaupload some times. But, the speed is not as good as Rapidshare.

2 mb down is fast. I will post there first.

I have not talked to they guy today but I will let you guys know when uploading is done and send a link out on this forum.

Bad News. The guy could not find the hard drive with the files on it... He was downloading from a torrent site and has 30% done. He does have a friend that he thinks has the files. Will keep you posted... Sorry guys.

If everyone on here who has a portion of the torrent files downloaded will seed what they have, The download would be much faster. I am seeding now and downloading, so is the guy I am waiting on. The torrent is a last resort effort. If the guy cannot come through with the files it is all we have. So seed it if you got it.

i have been downloading and seeding since i first posted here. I have had it on 24-7 last time i checked i was ~35%

ght now we have one guy posting from a verizon fios, one guy posting from charter and me. I am getting a blazing 5kb/s down and am sitting at 17.3%. At this rate I will have this download completed in 3 weeks, bummer.... If you have the bandwidth seed at an unlimited rate, that would be a zero "0" setting. This is what I do. My upload is at 79 kb/s

Well, here is the deal. I was tired of waiting. I just purchased a 40 gb HDD from Garret via this site and PayPal. It has the Z3 Image and all of the updates for it. If he says it is ok, I will rip the content from it and post it on Rapid Share. Only if he says it is ok. These guys put alot of work into these HDDs. So if that is ok with him I will move forward. My HDD should be here Wed or Thurs.

One benifit of this would be that all of the updates are there, meaning that you would not have to mess with updating the unit. However, It would be a different file than the torrent most of you are downloading now though. But I would not make the files into a torrent anyway. Much too much trouble.

I don't have any issues with ripping my image and posting for others to use.

sucky thing is i have 1 peer that im downloading 60b/sec from.

im being patient though, it shouldnt be too lobg before im done

I have started to DL the original torrent files, since I do not have that version anymore. I will help seed it for awhile as well. I currently show that all parts are available.

Garrett, would you mind informin me of what i will need to update on my hdd once i have this image? Im speaking of Gracenotes and the XM logos which I know of, but is there anything else i need?

i finished the z3 download last night as well. I have been seeding it and will continue to seed for a week or two. I will throw the updates on there and upload to rapidshare if no one else can get their copy up

Use Acronis to create a backup. Then anyone can use Acronis to restore. It will make a complete image of the whole drive.

I downloaded the torrent (only took 2 days), and I am seeding it also.

ive been seeing for 2 weeks. It took me a while to get the whole file, but it looks like i started a second coming!

Well after 5 or 6 hours of messing with it, and 3 different trips to the store to buy a different 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, and 3 different PCs later, i have upgraded my Z2 to a Z3

it appears that even if you update the BIOS on a Gateway PC, they still arent good enough to recognize a locked drive, and just give a Secondary Master Hard Drive error (on a E series e2000 anyway)

i had to use a Dell that i found that was all sata, disconnect the cd rom from the IDE on the board, unlock the Tosh drive, then use the e2000 (now that the drive was wiped) to boot the MHDD and disable security (i put the cd rom as the slave on the primary IDE and the tosh drive on the secondary master

it was quite the process, and after i updated the XM logos i didnt feel like messing with the gracenote update and figured i would use my cd that i used with the z2 fw. i forgot that the cd wont work on z3 fw!! oh well

thank to all on here who have dedicated time and knowledge. I will keep the image seeding as long as i can here at work
