If someone could give me a detailed instruction on how to set e-brake bypass toggle switch which isn't to difficult for a newbie with a 2002 VW Jetta.

Thanks in advance,

James

cant you just groud the brake wire with a switch in the line?

I'm not sure, so you saying put a toggle switch on the green line locked to the e-brake power line and then ground the switch. An it will be bypassed?

you can use a button switch too if you'd like, but thats how you do it.

and youre not that far from me so id have no problem doin it, but that diagram shows you exactly how

oh... So i only have an evo you can rev up to like 6k rpm unless its automatic :( ill give u a car head start... wait are you stock? if ur not stock you dont get a head start haha

lol....its 6spd and redlines at 9k rpms. for now its stock, i just ordered an intake, and still thinking about exhaust/chip/turbo

Posted Jul 24, 2008 · 02:55 UTC#12

EWWW nooo dont chip it... just do intake, full exhaust go catless, u need some supporting mods for a turbo kit i would recommend depends how big u go for a turbo kit

Posted Jul 24, 2008 · 05:45 UTC#13

idk much about turbos i jus kno Greddy makes a tt kit for it and adds like 60 whp. and the chip is jus to eliminate the ecu and tune the engine. its just a thought as of now, i dont race at all so i dont really see a need to blow 5 grand to add HP ill never need to use ya kno

Posted Jul 24, 2008 · 16:24 UTC#14

The chip ur talking about is a PNP piggyback its called. If u get a custom chip they will tune the chip to modify your best air fuel ratio and prolly eliminate rev limiter n other spikes that releases hp. Its not about if you race or not cuz i dont race... but i blew alot of money on my car already cuz its just nice to have a high powered vehicle and then you can do this:

:lol::lol::lol:

i think once you start modifying you start blowing money to make it quicker cuz the speed just turns you on in a funny way :D oh by the way did you draw that diagram? man ur the next picaso hahahha

Posted Jul 24, 2008 · 16:36 UTC#15

lol yes i did draw it. maybe if i cut my ear off like van go itll be worth millions

ya thats wat its called, but i lost my n4s 2 years ago, i hit a tree head on at 70mph and was lucky to have not been injured, let alone even walk out of it

truck.jpg

the truck literally did a full flip and 180 and when i woke up from the airbags knocking me out i was petrified of wat just happened

Posted Jul 24, 2008 · 17:28 UTC#16

Oh sorry to hear that... but must of been a big ass tree. Trucks dont have the suspension nor the handling of ur RX-8 so its like a BIGGGG difference ahh yah never know... its like getting a ticket for speeding u wont speed for like mayb a week then u start speeding again...

Just thought I'd throw in that I think the bypass I posted in this thread will work:

http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16629

If it works, you don't have to fiddle with switches. It's a permanent and automatic bypass. You could do the same with a relay, but the transistor is slicker, smaller, cheaper, no moving parts, and uses almost no power.

Posted Jul 29, 2008 · 15:33 UTC#18

Coool dude thanx for info :D

Posted Aug 07, 2008 · 06:44 UTC#19

so does that bypass work? I just got a p5000 also would like to have it installed without using a toggle switch.

Posted Aug 07, 2008 · 18:30 UTC#20

If you're talking about the bypass I posted with the transistor, it should work. It's less than $3.00 worth of parts from Radio Shack so you won't be out much if you try it and it doesn't work (but I think it will). Plus, I think you can get away with using 1k resistors in place of both so less than $2.00 worth of parts. You can also get the parts out of some junk electronics for free like I did!

Posted Aug 07, 2008 · 22:09 UTC#21

Oh its not the price im worried about, its more of the convience and look where you don't need to toggle some switch or have some toggle sticking out of nowhere.

Posted Aug 07, 2008 · 22:57 UTC#22

Go ahead and try it then, it worked perfectly for me! ;)
