Pioneer ND-BC2. Little costly, but worth it. Bought one to replace the el-cheapo one I had that died in 3 days.

I use mine for hooking up to my trailer. I can see the ball, and can back to it perfectly everytime by myself.

well, call me a sissy-la-la but if you had a real MAN'S vehicle (like an Avalanche, for instance  ) you would understand the attraction to a rear-view camera. Plus, I have found it very interesting to switch it on when I think someone has stopped really close to my tail and see just how close they came . . . .

to be honest, in my Av when parallel parking I have no interest in coming close to bumping the car behind me, since that would usually result in a crease on thier hood since my Av sits up higher. Given the fact that parallel spots don't usually come in "extra large", this is always an issue and it is a game of inches (and I have no idea exactly how close I might be to the rearward car otherwise).

Me too as I used one on my truck as well. Spares me the training requirement of telling my wife shes not guiding me right. Now I can do it by myself. Also if little kids dart out behind you..

alot of good comes out of them and no bad whatsoever. dont criticize others jus cuz u dont see a point in them

anyways, to answer the topic question (which was what is the best camera, not what is the point of them  ) any that you attach to your license plate. its at bumper level which is good for parallel parking, if you use it for hookin a trailor hitch, etc.

I've just recently had a Boyo attached and the picture quality is great. The only time it is poor is if you are in complete darkness.

What model Boyo did you buy?

Posted Jul 21, 2008 · 05:04 UTC#12

I have a Boyo VTL400. Sorry I have no picture, but it mounts across the top of the license plate. They also have the same camera that is mounted into a full license plate frame.

Do these Boyo camera switch on automatically when you select reverse?

Posted Jul 21, 2008 · 13:45 UTC#14

Yes they do, but keep in mind I had mine installed by a professional at the same time I had a stereo put in so I'm not able to give you specs on how to wire it.

im sure it comes with an installation guide

i have the boyo 400. its a complete license plate frame and is black metal. i absolutely love it and it has a great picture. ive had mine for over a year with zero problems. bought it online for around $100-120.

oh and i mounted auxiliary backup lights on my trailer hitch ($35 from cabelas and you dont even have to drill a hole). at night in complete darkness i can see like it was bright daylight!

like someone above said, i use it to pull right up to my trailers and then just drop onto the ball. works PERFECT and is worth the cost of my entire setup just for that feature. i use my boat very often and am almost always hooking up to it by myself. on several occassions i would have friends with me and they dont always notice the camera so i whip around and back up to the trailer perfectly and they are amazed and usually i will point to the camera. i picked my boat up from the mechanic last week and whipped right up to it and the kid was freaking out telling me to stop and i had it perfect where he just had to lower the tongue. he was amazed and just kept saying "ive never seen anyone do that before!!" and i just smiled and said "yea, im pretty good"

That's actually pretty cool. I have the trunk release on my key and a button inside the cab so that keyhole's pretty useless to me...plus it's very discreet

Same here...I have the release inside the cabin as most cars do. I don't think I've ever made use of the keyhole in the trunk.

I can't be the first one to think of this so can some post their installed photo/review of it??

I cant find the boyo 400... any one know where to get it?

Posted Feb 29, 2012 · 15:14 UTC#23

would this camera work with my Z1?

http://www.coastalet...ICK_CAMERAS.htm

Yes, it should work fine. Just want to make sure that it is a rear facing camera so the image won't appear backwards.

will it automatically turn on if reverse is engaged in the car?
