So I'm trying to hack the update to change icons... looks like it'll be cake since they've unprotected at least this first update package... look what I found!

Here's the image:

I swear I didn't edit or make this up... check yourself

Man I wish they kept this as the "loading" image. 0_o

LMFAO!!!

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 04:33 UTC#3

Finally we know why Pioneer thought a 2-minute boot up was okay. :)

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 04:47 UTC#4

Wow, that's incredibly professional. Pioneer continues to impress me with their next amateur move.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 14:27 UTC#5

Probably some juvenile software developer threw that in there right before it was going out to get a laugh. I don't see how it would have gone though testing and analysis and everything with that in there. The image size is 320x240, so it was obviously not purposely put there in the 800x480 folder by pioneer for use.

That is so freaking funny.. I just went looking for the image and found it as well.

I love it.

just wondering....does NSFW mean not safe for work? cuz im a room wit 6 other coworkers and its not lading up...

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 16:53 UTC#8

It's a pic of a girl's butt in a thong. For some reason the pic's not loading any more. Maybe Pioneer found out we're on to them and they're covering it up lol.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 16:57 UTC#9

oreally thats all it is? lol i thought itd be alot more crude than that. still messed up that such a big company has the maturity of a toddler to throw that in the update.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 17:22 UTC#10

Well like I said, it was most likely one person or a small group of people that did that, not Pioneer itself. Probably snuck it in there after all the testing/reviewing was complete so there wouldn't be any chance of anyone finding it before release. There's no way pioneer would purposely put a completely irrelevant picture of a girl's ass in their firmware update or even allow it if they found out about it.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 17:26 UTC#11

Right, but the fact that it made it through (and that it was even placed there by the dev team) speaks volumes about the quality of personal on this program. And explains plenty about all of the flaws in the F-Series.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 17:57 UTC#12

It's not totally irrelevant, half the systems function like ass, so...

every employee represents the company it works for. I work as a kitchen designer for a company called NDA Kitchen Co.. if i had a flaw in my design that affected it in the household, NDA would look bad, not me.

i doubt itd happen but there can actually be a lawsuit because of that. and even though it was one person that did it, its pioneer that will lose, not just that one employee.

you guys with negative feedback on his... get a life. it has nothing to do with the software, and if a company or individual shows a human side you guys get all hot and bothered?

please............

I could care less about the picture (it's a damn fine specimen), it's the fact that a company the size of Pioneer ends up with something like that in their finished product that scares me. It's about professionalism, and the lack of it that Pioneer has. If something like that makes it into a public distribution, imagine what else has gone unnoticed!

get a life??? its like somebody spitting in your food because you sent it back. it doesnt matter if it does nothing its the lack of respect the workers have for the customers that keep them having a job. and just like skicrave, idc if its there if it doesnt do anything. its just not something youd expect from a company like them. so back off.

please............

Seriously? Some people need to lighten up. I can't wait until this whole firmware update finally blows over, and all the trolls who do nothing but come here and b!tch go away and this forum goes back to the way it was.

isnt that what youre doing right now? b!tching? sure sounds like it

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 23:45 UTC#20

Yup, sure am. Negativity wears on people, but like I said, that is not my purpose for coming here. Many who post here nowadays only do just that. There were alot of regulars that simply do not come here anymore.

Posted Jul 22, 2008 · 23:52 UTC#21

well if you read back youll see i came to ask wat nsfw meant because i was at work and the pic wasnt loading up. and after i was told what the picture was i didnt think anything of it except that its very unprofessional of the company. and then i guess it was around when i was told to "get a life" is when i started, as you would call it, 'bitching'.

but in spite of all that "bitching" that i did, i was still on topic. ur post had no relevance to what was being discussed so what are you trying to prove here?

Posted Jul 23, 2008 · 01:11 UTC#22

Did I point you out specifically? I've seen you posts, and there not bad at all, some even helpful. I was pointing out the trollers who do nothing but complain here. Like I already said, lighten up! It's just a picture, thrown in by a programmer. It's not like this is the first time a programmer has dropped something into software.

I won't reply anymore in this thread, looking at your post count and seeing you just signed up less than three months ago, this could go all night, and I really don't enjoy forum battles.

Have a good day!

This could be interesting, the data.zip file you have mentioned there includes the same type of files and folder structure that were used to transform my GPS mio 220 which also runs igo. But I believe you already know this.

Can you expand on "transform", perhaps in a new thread? You've definitely piqued my interest!

Just finished, i thought it deserved its own thread...
