I want to enjoy free map roaming, but I can't stand these #$%^& boxes. I do not like them here or there, I do not like them Sam I Am.

I completely agree I freaking HATE them!!! That and the "cockpit" timers. That glitch makes absolutely no sense at all. No sense.

Cockpit timers......What's that? On second thought, don't tell me. I don't think I want to know.

The blue boxes is such a little inconsequential thing, really... just a minor annoyance.

Posted Aug 08, 2008 · 14:16 UTC#5

Yeah but it is sloppy though non the less. Minor but none the less noticable. Kind of like a fly in your drink. Do you toss it or just take out the fly? Minor annoyance, really.

Posted Aug 08, 2008 · 14:37 UTC#6

No, I drink the fly. It's good for me... protein and stuff.

Do you all really stare at the map screen that much when you are driving around an area you already know? Why not just switch to the A/V screen and not experience the obvious horror you receive when looking at empty boxes?

Posted Aug 08, 2008 · 18:25 UTC#8

^ pretty much... why do you need the map if you have no route programmed in? You obviously know where you are going at that point...

Posted Aug 08, 2008 · 19:40 UTC#9

yeah...I agree with HiFiSi...it's okay that a whole bunch of embarrassing glitches from Pioneer's lab made it into expensive production electronics.

Extra meaningless boxes on the nav screen? So what?

No way to turn off certain beeps? Big deal?

Major firmware update required even before release, which even then doesn't quite fix everything? What are you all complaining about???

;O)

lol

HAHAHAHA!!!! burn!

Posted Aug 08, 2008 · 20:43 UTC#12

he is not being bitchy he is just being true why would you want just random crap on the screen it just doesnt look clean no matter if you are looking at it all the time or not plus all yall well us bitched about the every single thing pioneer as done good or bad thats just human nature.

Well, for me it is a big deal. Sometimes when I'm in a new neighborhood and I'm looking at houses, I like to free roam and know if a street ends or not. Very handy for me. For me this is one of the reasons I use the map without a route programmed in. I'm not nick picking, you can't help if you don't like something. Many in here are hoping for fixes that bother them, and for me this is the one thing on the pioneer that bothers me the most. I can't force myself to like spinach, no matter how much I chug it down.

i know i'm right. and it pisses me off everytime when i see a thread that i have some interest in has been updated, and it's just this high school drama queen ranting.

Posted Aug 09, 2008 · 00:18 UTC#18

im not defending anybody im just saying we all have been bitching about every square inch of the product so if he wants to bitch let him bitch you dont have to post your 2 sense just to get your post count up who cares. let him bitch. and wow dude if you dont like the product just sell it im sure someone will take it off your hands

nice try guy, but my post count is so high because i try to contribute any piece of information that i know to whatever is being discussed, and anybody who's anybody on this forum knows that.

its been ripped apart and complained about because the unit hardly fucking worked since its release.

Pioneer is releasing a second update to fix minor issues and since they said the unnecessary boxes are a 'feature', not a glitch, that will not be fixed, so just deal with them or wait till a member finds a way to eliminate them. no need to attack another member because of his input. theres a fine line between complaining about a misfunction, and acting like a troll.

and if youre gonna try to bitch me out like that, make sure you read my post right, nowhere did i say anything about disliking my unit

Posted Aug 09, 2008 · 00:51 UTC#21

if thats true then i was misinformed, and this thread has no need to continue.

Posted Aug 09, 2008 · 00:56 UTC#22

Posted Aug 09, 2008 · 02:58 UTC#23

Wow, I just woke up to see all this. I am new to the forums and just wanted to vent a little on something that bothered me. Didn't mean for all this nonconstructive arguing to happen.

Cool djhuab, I hope so. That would be great news.

I agree as well. I like to know what the upcoming streets are and what options I have to get to my work appts. I hope that if they fix the 2d compass issue that they move the arrow cursor down a bit or it won't help much seeing what's coming up.

i use it for the same reason. it's just a map to give me some extra info of the area around me while driving.

i have 2 vehicles and 2 sat nav's a kenwood dnx5220 and this pioneer f900 so i really know what i'm talking about. and i had 3 other becker / kenwoods sat navs before in previous vehicles.
