Everything looks good about the F90bt, but after reading about the crazy long load time, it really makes me wanna think twice before getting it.

so now Im stuck between Z3 and the F90BT.

Im more torwards the F90BT because I know its newer, with better interface and MSN direct (I dont like paying xm 10 bux a month to get traffic ONLY)

so I dunno. any pros & cons between the 2 unit ? (other than the loading time)

I did search btw. Thanks :)

I would consider the 5220 or 8120 personally.

i would consider one of those too... i played with the 5120 today and that thing is amazing plus the navi is so accurate its scary. there are no cons to me

the only thing I dont really like about Kenwood is that it seems that their customer support is not as great as Pioneer.

Just look at their web site, they dont even list out the detail spec of their Navigation unit.

One question, is it as easy to bypass as the pioneer units ?

I think its a really great unit, but I never really trust a company who cant even do their web site right.

yeah thats true their website sucks but good products. i called their customer care line today they were very helpful much better than pioneer IMO

well u can say that they would rather spend their resources on other departments than their web department. but its the year of 2008 a company's web site totally represents ur company's image.

I need more input ;)

Haha, not possible! Pioneer has the worst customer support of any company their size and reputation I've ever experienced.

hmm. now it makes me think that maybe I should really consider getting a Kenwood unit instead of the F90bt.

I can get the F90BT for around 820 shipped. Kenwood about 1200 shipped.

Is the boot up time really that long? I have a Panasonic Strada now, it has a HDD and bootup time takes around 3-4 seconds. so Im not sure if I can stand the 1-2 minutes of boot up time :(

I believe there is an existing topic that compares these two units in depth if you wanna look for it.

I think I will go with the F90BT. Cuz I need the MSN direct's movie time thinggy (gf needs it actually)

yeah yeah I know I can just find another gf .... AHHH I SO didnt say that ! :P

Anyway ! Now I searched and it seems that if I dont buy it from "Authorized" Pioneer dealer they are not going to warranty it. IS that true ?

thx :)

Posted Aug 15, 2008 · 14:55 UTC#12

Yes. You have to buy it from an authorized dealer or the warranty means nothing. And for the F90BT, it has to be a Pioneer PREMIER authorized dealer. But the good thing is that unlike with the F900 and F700, pretty much any place that can get and sell the Premiere F90BT is going to be authorized to sell them, otherwise they really wouldn't be able to get them in the first place.

What about Ebay sellers ? I found one selling for around 800 bux.

there is 2 local Premier PIoneer dealer in my area, but I have a feeling that they will ALWAYS cost more than people selling on ebay.

so ...

You don't have a phone that provides that functionality?

so ...

Almost 100% guaranteed that anyone selling an F90BT on ebay is not going to be an authorized Premier dealer.

its not even 100% guarenteed that the unit will work with todays sellers

...and it they are authorized, and the unit will work, 101% guarenteed it wont be $800..

I have Cingular/AT&T service. I am sssoooooo regret that I sign up for this piece of shit. I should've just stick with T-Mobile in the first place. I can add the MediaNet thing so I can check movie times, but @ 30 bux a month I seriously dont think its worth it. especially from AT&T (fucking garbage pos service, charged me 4 times the money on first month, took them like 3 months before they finally fixed it, thats after like 20 calls from me to bitch at their Customer service)

so yeah ... there you go :(

All Authorized online sites either dont have F90Bt, or they simply selling it at MSRP. which I think is TOTALLY not worth it.

*sigh* ...

Whats the differents between F90BT and F900BT other than the iPod cable and 2 year warranty anyway ?

Posted Aug 15, 2008 · 17:48 UTC#20

4V vs. 2V preamp outputs (will only make a difference if you're running relatively high quality external amplifiers).

Posted Aug 15, 2008 · 17:55 UTC#21

oh if thats the case then I should be fine with the 900 then.

Im running it with Stock Bose setup. which is kinda whack and I have no plans to upgrade them (I enjoy listening music at home more)

any Authorized reseller that you guys recommend? if none then I just gonna go get it at abes of Maine or something.

Isn't Al & Eds still offering a discount on the F90BT, or did that end last month?

Posted Aug 15, 2008 · 18:07 UTC#23

i think their discount ended

Posted Aug 15, 2008 · 18:17 UTC#24

No it didn't - go to http://www.al-eds.com/Pioneer-AVICF90BT-p18725.html , click on "Add to Cart", then on the next page enter coupon code "AVIC411" for the 18% discount. Takes the price down from $1,199.99 to $983.99 with free shipping.

Is it worth it to get the 90bt and not 900bt ?

Cable, Warranty, and the 2v extra for amp.

if I get the 900bt, I can get the ipod cable for around 40 bux and save myself over 100 something bux.

if 900bt is ok then I'll just grab one at Abes of Maine for 799 tomorrow ...
