The album art for music is blurry and really pixelated does anybody know what the issue could be. The album art is itunes album art so the quality is really high.

you can try getting a bigger picture of the album art and replacing the smaller one on your iPod with it. i have the same problem, but i dont make it bigger on the screen.

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 05:14 UTC#3

the album art is 600x600 that is really large

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 12:07 UTC#4

so? it doesnt make the image any bigger on the iPod or avic, just shrinks it down to the right size, and hopefully that the bigger image will do away with the stretched ot pixelated image youre talking about. at least try it.

What he is saying that the current album art he;s using is 600x600. It just looks bad when it gets compressed to fit on the F's screen.

OOOO ok i misunderstood. i have the same problem but my picture is 300x300 and looks streched out. honest mistake.

I have my iPod hooked up here at work so i will put different sized artworks on some songs, and when i go on break, i'll see what looks best in the avic's picture

Grab your art from a site such as http://www.samgoody.com

The quality is still great, on par with if not better than iTunes, and you can use WMP or iTunes to apply it to your songs.

This can be a very tedious task if you have 400 different artist, 1000 different albums, etc.

However, you will be satisfied with the output on your F-series, iPod and anywhere else you will view the album art.

False, I have very high quality album art, and it looks terrible when playing off my iPhone on the F-Series. It looks fine from my 5th generation iPod and 2nd Generation Nano though, so it's something in how the art is handled.

agreed with skicrave. i just tried 4 different sizes. 120x120, 300x300, 400x400, 600x600..ALL were the same crappy choppy quality.

well atleast I'm not the only one i love how in the picture on pioneers website the album art is clear and crisp that's deceiving

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 15:58 UTC#11

Ya, gotta watch out for that lol

HiFiSi, the format of the picture wouldnt matter right?

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 16:31 UTC#12

No, it shouldn't matter... It seems to be a problem with only the iphone, correct? You say the album art on the F-series looks fine using a 5th gen ipod and an ipod nano. The album art on my F90 using a 5.5 gen ipod looks great as well. Seems to be a problem with how the iphone is sending the album art to the radio? There is nothing you can really do on the radio end of the problem, though. Are there any setting on the iphone that deal with album art and how it is compressed or rendered?

personally im using an 80GB iPod Video and im getting it too

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 17:05 UTC#14

I've read about this being a problem with other devices and the latest iPod products as well, so I think it's something on Apple's end.

Posted Aug 20, 2008 · 17:32 UTC#15

Strange. My album art looks great, in both the small and large view. And it's all (or mostly) the default itunes album art.

Posted Aug 21, 2008 · 20:58 UTC#16

I feel like mine could be sharper... but the image would have to be 1:1 on the pixels for it to looks its sharpest. Anyone care to count the pixel count use from Pioneer for the album art?

Posted Aug 28, 2008 · 04:15 UTC#17

it looks terrible from my ipod touch as well, i got all my album art from itunes as well :/

Posted Aug 29, 2008 · 12:17 UTC#18

it couldn't depend on what F you have right? Cuz HiFiSi's got the 90, and his album art looks great , but I got the 700 and it looks horrid.

Posted Aug 29, 2008 · 13:44 UTC#19

I've got the 700 and to me the album art looks ok. There are a few where it looks really good, and a few where it looks a bit pixellated, but I figure that's due to the quality (or lack thereof) of the images in the first place, not the fault of the 700. I'm using an iPod nano, 8gb, whatever version is the current one.

i have the 90 and it looks like crap, they all look bad i dont think i have any that looks decent or normal :( it looks "alright" when its really small but if i click it to make it bigger its really pixellated

I'm sure a lot of you know this but some may not, the resolution of your album art plays a big role as well, doesn't matter if its 320x320 or 600x600, if both have the same resolution then the 600 is obviously gonna be stretched, therefore looking terrible. A good way to find hq album art is to google image the artist and cd title. It will display the resolution and the size of the file. ie 320x320 66k. The higher the Kilobyte the higher the end picture will be. Unless its something ridiculous like 1024x720 120k, then you know that's gonna be shitty.

I can confirm that after connecting my friends 30gb 5th Gen Video iPod that the album art is much cleaner looking and not pixelated when zoomed or even when presented with song info on the bottom

I have a 700BT and a jailbroken(witch I think makes no difference to the album art quality on the avic) itouch with firmware 1.1.4 and all my album art looks horrible. I believe that this is a compatibility problem between the unit and the different software versions on every ipod model. I have considered buying an ipod classic but now that i've seen that some users are having problems with them too i'm not too shure. It would be verry helpfull if we started listing the unit, type of ipod and its firmware version and weather the album art is crap or not.

Unit: F700BT

ipod: 1st gen itouch

firmware: 1.1.4

Art album: crap

I have an F900 and I found that if I use my iPhone 3G (v2.1 software) the album art looks horrid... however when I use my 6th gen iPod Classic the album art is pristine. They're both synced to the same music library (all purchased from iTunes, mind you).

Posted Sep 28, 2008 · 19:53 UTC#25

I have the F700 , the art with the iPhone 3G is horrible , the art with a nano 1st gen is perfect .

Apparantly the latest generation of apple products behaves differently
