does anyone know if you can install a double din unit in the 2002 chevy silverado dash that is 1.5 din i heard this can be done if you chnge the bezel and the mountind /houseing behind it ?

Just order the 2003 dash from the dealer. There is a post somewhere on it with pictures, but I'll let you hit the search button.

Like the post above says, you have to have the 2003+ dash bezel in order for it to work correctly and you have to do some triming on the back of the pocket to get it to sit entirely inside the dash. There's some pics floating around here of someone's install on a 07 GMC 2500 which has pretty much the same style radio as the 99-02's have.

You actually dont need to use the 03' bezel, but it would be a little easier. I just got my f700 bt installed and they did use a 03 bezel that i got out of the junk yard for $25. Here is a link of the guy that used his 02 bezel instead of trimming the 03 bezel. This Link helped me out a lot and really got me to decide if I wanted to use my 02 or 03 bezel, Hope it helps
