I thought it would be sweet to find out on how many people are happy with there updates. What problems they have in-countered. What changes have takin place. I have notice my D3 loads faster. They have update the hwy names. Updated my streets BUT I have notice that the POI appear in spots that NEVER had that POI there. Gas stations not at actual spots, some of em. My NavTraffic is different. It no longer shows a screen that indicates no incidents. It jus says "Toronto. This provides Metro". But other than that its all sweeeeeeet.

my d1 is the same but i also noticed the xm stations are missing the pictures "some maybe 4" . Hope next year will be better..but with the info on here i can just make a new disk with the xm station pictures off the 70mt also add backgrounds..

p.s did u get ur check engine light out??

I haven't notice any missing icons BUT I have notice this since I bought my D3 is that I am missing a few stations. I'm not sure if thats normal but I am missin stations.

P.S. Ryan it it was my gas cap. It wasn't tighten so I tighten it today and took a drive and BOOM it was gone.

ryan420 - Did you get your D1 updated with the files out on the thread? How'd you manage that? Did you use the east files?

Hi,Any improvement for Iphone/ Ipod futures on this updates?

I have no voice guidance in my home town even though on 70MT I had this.

Well, I updated, but it really changed nothing for me. All the POIs it was missing before are still missing. i.e. We got an IHOP a year or so ago, and it's still not on the POI list. Also, something that drives me CRAZY is that the street numbers are WAY off.. Anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 a mile. That drives me bonkers. I call mine Betsy. Betsy "In one half mile, your destination is on the left." Me "Betsy, you retard! We're in the parking lot, what are you smoking?!?!"

hah

Roads that were built years ago are still missing from the map...

AVICTC- I just downloaded the disk's an burned with 120% and put it the unit an let it update..

Also notice old road arrn't on the new maps

I have also notice that my Navtraffic loads up a lot faster than before. Use to have to wait a few minutes before the XM Navtraffic icon would appear on the map but not it about 30 seconds and it pops up and runnin. Hope Pioneer plans on releasin the 2008 upgrades a lot sooner than they did the 2008 discs.

i got the 08 update and if i had gotten it from pioneer i would have ben pissed, example i live in the dc area and the new nationals park stadium has ben built and its not even on the update disk, but there are some new streets a few blocks from where i live and they are on the 08 disk.

it does boot up faster.

Hey hey now no need to be a smart ass about it lol

It's fine. Although my neighborhood (which is 2.5yrs old), is not reflected in the discs (it is reflected in Mapquest, however).

I wish they would have included a fix for the "dialled" calls misspelling in the bluetooth screen, though. I mean, come on...how the hell do you let that misspelling get past the QA team?

Guys:

Another post on here says the file dates on the update disks are something like May 2008. That means Pioneer probably received/purchased the data a few months before from TeleAtlas....

Given that TeleAtlas doesn't instantly update their own databases everytime someone reports new things, but rather, waits until their own GIS specialists can verify it, the data on the new Pioneer map disks is probably VERY old.

So basically, the data on the "update" disks could be as old as mid 2007...or older! lol

well the 70 and 80 disk are really the same lol

For those that updated, do you lose the custom background screens for the iPod, boot up, nav menu screens when you update with the new nav disk? I don't know where I put my custom made backgrounds at the moment and don't want to update the software until I can verify I don't lose my fancy backgrounds without being able to easily restore them.

I had a lot of new businesses and stuff updated.... and 80% of what I reported has been updated..... pretty cool I thing. I'm anxious to see if it fixes the routing issues... haven't been able to test it yet.

Roads that were built last year are still missing from the map...

After the update on my D3, I lost my intro splash jpg image but my address book was still intact.

i made the mistake of downloading in vista the 4GB west file.... burned and tried to update, it updated then stopped and says please insert appropriate disc.

i came back, downloaded the 8GB version and burned. once i stuck it in it updated and then went back to "please insert approriate disc" again. what can i do now? am i screwed? is there a way to downgrade to the original version?

the unit(d3) doesn't respond to anything now... the OEM disc doesn't seem to help...

please help
