So, I'm trying to go through the code and find the call to this message, comment it out, and getting rid of it so I can see my nice splash screen I just downloaded from some very talented person on this site. Anyone have any ideas as to what part of the code it's in? Even better, has anyone ever done this? With thanks in advance:

Hasn't been found yet. It's in one of the executables, and will need to be decompiled and recompiled. There are maybe two people that post on this site (probably more that read it though) that have the skill and toolset to do that though, so it may be a while.

I don't have the resources to decompile the executable, but if someone does I can do the code work.

Have you tried Boomerang?

http://boomerang.sourceforge.net/

I don't know if it works, but it looks legitimate.

Boomerang (apart form looking like a dead project) does not seem to do anything with ARM code.

IDA Pro would work, but it is expensive. Charmed at http://carolos.za.net/ might work but nowhere as pretty...

well if anyone wants i can get someone a copy of ida pro .... with a key that will work for awhile anyway :/

BorisM, I uploaded the recent ui_pioneer.rar to my AVIC. It is still showing street # above the street and in red color. I am sure that I know how to do this. Do you have any other suggestion?

Posted Oct 15, 2008 · 15:15 UTC#9

Suggestion 1 -- use the correct thread.

Suggestion 2 -- did you extract thу content of the archive into a directory named "ui_pioneer" in APL2\IGO?

Well, as a lowly programming student at Embry-Riddle, you clearly have more talent for this that I. Please let me know if you need help. Thanks!

Right now I have modded my f900 with a few options which I'm very happy with, but still the one that bugs me the most is the "System startup" banner. With the leaps and bounds were making with this hu still no solution?

Done!, I haven't tried it yet, but it's IDA Pro v5.2...

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 22:31 UTC#14

I think 5.3 is the latest version... :)

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 22:37 UTC#15

v5.2 was the highest i can find...

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 23:56 UTC#16

Should work just as well for our purposes...

I just downloaded a demo from hex-rays so it was the latest they released, but what floats around probably lags a bit...

I've scanned it once and seems clean. Scan with your regular scanners to make sure. I set the link above to delete itself after 24 hrs., so it will only be good till this time today. It's the windows based, let me know if you need linux or mac.

Let me know how she works for ya.

With V2 out, the startup screen is gone for most of the startup which is good, but the rest should be with a clear back ground at least. Now for my second wish the WARNING screens that come up before a DVD and the first map is used if we could get rid of these or at least make them stransparent and a bigger "OK" button so we can tap it without havin to look as hard to hit it, I drive a Subaru Impreza sport hard to hit that small button when the car is moving and if you follow Pioneer's logic and read the warning you'd run off the road.I noticed that MercuyMan was trying to work on this, any progress.

The 2.0 firmware update resolves the issue of the system start up warning, so this thread can probably be wrapped up.

New firmware update fixes this.

Um, I posted that four hours before you, but thanks for your input.

Well, technically the message is still there, it just goes away faster.

However, here's a section from the pioneer.ini:

[loading]

show_statustext=1

show_progressbar=0

progressbar_x=85

progressbar_y=134

releaselangvoice=1

I get a feeling that changing the first 1 to 0 will get rid of iGO's version of the message (I belive there's another one, displayed while the rest of the system is booting, but I might be wrong...).

Personally, I like having the message... At least I know when the system has finished loading...

Posted Nov 02, 2008 · 20:25 UTC#24

What's the status on this one? Has anyone been able to get this message to go away in 2.0?

Posted Nov 02, 2008 · 21:47 UTC#25

For all intent and purposes the startup screen is gone but for a few seconds, the warning screens are still there, these are the ones I’d like to get rid of (before first map and play DVD play). I don’t know if its possible but hoping.
