Will the firmware be released for European models ?

Hahahah this is great news.

The video clearly shows improved bootup time (though its still bad IMO). But what a difference!

Also, you can see the blue boxes are gone

The work, home, mobile, etc are added (yay!)

The startup menu is gone!!!!!

Just downloaded and installed it. Piece of cake, went really smooth. Boot time is way down, screen is brighter, etc, etc.

Yeah. Maybe it's just me, or my unit, but my boot time is MUCH MUCH faster than the one in the youtube clip. Music starts in about 5 seconds, I'm up and rocking in about 20 seconds total. Perfectly acceptable.

The video said they have an 80gig iPod and similar setups.. does that effect maybe why it started up slower than yours did?

Posted Oct 29, 2008 · 20:15 UTC#137

i think the vid said 8gb touch not 80gb

Posted Oct 29, 2008 · 20:16 UTC#138

I think you're right, I had actually typed 8 then put 80. I don't own an iPod so I'm not too familiar. In any case, would that affect the boot-up speed?

they had an ipod connected to it in the video, without it the boot time is even better. bluetooth connected to my blackberry in about 30 secs or so.

Anyone notice that the contacts were correctly displayed as John Smith Mobile, John Smith Home, etc etc!?? Does this mean no more triple entries with only the name and no entry for what type of number it is? I hope so!
