Wondering if it's possible to bypass the D3 by just grounding the parking brake wire and not connecting the GPS antenna. I have ordered the harness but I wont get it before I go on a 3hr roadtrip. Will this work?

No. Please look at the bypass thread on how to bypass the D3. You need to move a wire over and ground two of them. This is completely independent of GPS.

You can either use this method, or not bypass your unit - it has to be done like this.
