Good job. What did that take a day aybe 2 to find. Now I wonder how many idiots are going to try and profit from this on fleabay.

actually, its a regular occurrence on ebay to see people sell the bypass. I remember some guy selling the Z1/Nx/Dx bypasses on ebay. The information he sent was an exact copy of what was posted on here. I messaged him saying how much of a douche he was to sell the information found on avic411, and let's just say he didn't respond with a PG message.

I posted how to do it yesterday. You were too busy making posts to read it :D

Damn,

I can't wait for my D3 to come in!!! Am I correct in saying that this bypass will not affect the warranty???

Posted Mar 04, 2007 · 16:17 UTC#7

Of course you're correct, as long as you move the wire back to the original pin before sending it off for warranty repair.

OK, I've got to ask.

What functionality is lost by removing the mute wire from its original location? If there is functionality lost, wouldn't it be better to add a new wire to the above location and ground it out with the parking brake?

TIA

Okay the bypass works for me too.

Only thing is, now my car disables the controls if the car is in motion. After driving about a 1/4 mile I got a screen from the unit saying it detected that the parking brake wire was improperly disconnected. Then I noticed the navi search controls were disabled. The second I stopped at a traffic light they came back and then as soon as I started moving again they went away again.

Mannyman,

I wonder if resetting the unit would fix the problem.

Posted Mar 04, 2007 · 16:58 UTC#11

Is anybody else experiencing what's happening to me?

I still haven't put any dvd's in after bypassing so I wonder whether or not movies will play while I am moving. Not that I would use that feature but I'm sure someone out there wants to know.

You have a loose wire, or as said already, reset the unit.

Posted Mar 04, 2007 · 19:39 UTC#13

No functionality is lost unless you are using another brands equipment that needs to mute the stereo. For example, those old car kits that had the phone laying in a cradle next to the console. Those needed that wire to tell the stereo to shut up when the phone rings. Applications that use that wire are very rare now

OK, I've got to ask.

worked for me.

Thanks to all you guys who figured out the emergency brake work-around.

I will be having mine installed this week!! Pioneer was not any help when I contacted them with my application problem.

Posted Mar 05, 2007 · 06:34 UTC#17

that's amazing guys! less than a week of its release and info to bypass is already floating around. cheers!

Posted Mar 05, 2007 · 20:47 UTC#18

Anyone know if it has any effect on the bluetooth (CD-BTB100) module?

Posted Mar 05, 2007 · 20:57 UTC#20

I opened up my console and fixed up all my ground wires with U shaped terminator connectors, to make the ground connection easier to secure (as opposed to bare wire). Now the bypass works perfectly for me as well, no cutoffs like before this time!

Hey guys - this may be another dumb newbie question..but I have to ask (before I destroy something like I usually do):

Do I forcefully pull out the MUTE wire from the harness...and then just stick it into the slot above it. I tugged on it a little bit, but it didn't seem to want to pull away...so i stopped.

Thanks for any and all guidance :)

Blizzard-

Thanks for asking the question that I had floating around in my head! Yep, to a complete novice what's the best way to remove that wire - and also how do we properly connect it to the new location?

Posted Mar 06, 2007 · 15:28 UTC#23

No!!!!!!!!!! Dont rip it out. Use a small eyeglass screw driver or something and poke the metal tab sticking up. That tab on the crimp is what is keeping it in. Poke that down and it should be pretty easy to pull out that wire.

Thanks coocho - I'll do as you say - thanks a ton...

Posted Mar 07, 2007 · 09:36 UTC#25

sorry this may sound dumb, what what does it mean by "ground"?

Also so there are 2 things that need to be ground? the yellow black wire will be taken out and put in the top empty hole, and the other end of the wire put to the "ground" and also the hand brake?

sorry im a complete noob, please put me into the right place heh
