I was thinking I was going to be making 5 or 10 when I first posted this. So far I have made about 60!

I'm going to focus my "marketing" on the women who want their knobs modded.

Thanks for the nice feedback.

Tom

you better not post again till you tell me how much for and when to expect my black knob jerk

Am I missing something???? Why are you calling me a jerk?

I don't think so . . . I think we might be seeing some classic knob size and feel jealousy here. He knows he want's a larger knob and a better feel to it, but is not able to have one. Maybe it's just a call for help.

Tom,

Please hurry and make a special black knob for "her" and taper it at both ends. Thanks!

Making colors shouldn't be that hard, just mill blocks of Aluminum instead of the Stainless and send them off to get anodized. materials and tooling should be cheaper on the Aluminum too, the price of Anodizing would off set it though.

Hey Tom,

I got the new knob today - installed flawlessly in about a minute. I also appreciate your professionalism in how you packaged and provided instructions.

So I go to pick up a lady friend. She reaches over to adjust the volume down (probably so she can say something that I won't pay attention to):

She (puzzled): "Oh, your knob feels different..."

Me (bemused): "Really?"

She: "Yeah, it seems bigger - did you do something to it? It feels better..."

Me (distracted by traffic)

She (smiling demurely): "Can I play with it?"

Me (trying not to laugh): "Sure, go ahead..."

Needless to say, your knob is a hit. Thanks!

does this knob interfere with functionality? can I still move the knob in all directions for stuff like track skipping?

My 2 cents:

Knob works perfectly for all functions - better, even...

Ok, your my new marketing manager for the new company I'm going to have to startup with some goverment TARP money. We will need to qoute your "lady friend" of course. Ya think you could talk her into doing a TV ad in a swimsuit talking about how much better your knob feels now?

Just a thought...

Thanks for the kind words. (I'm still laughing!!!)

I just noticed your list of equipment and mods includes the "Hohl knob"

(LAUGHING...) You think I could use that one?????

Nice! This forum freakin' rocks!!!

Anyway, is there a way to make the sides have some kind of "grip". You know, the one you can find on most stock radios. That would be sweet.

The deeper knob helps with grip quite a bit. (Just don't try this at home, we are professionals)

Oh, yeah, I bet, the stock one is terrible. I just like having the extra grip with a little less knob.

Posted Dec 31, 2008 · 07:22 UTC#163

I forgot to reply and tell you how awesome the knob is! Thanks! Well done!

Did you miss a step in the instructions? The knob goes on the head unit that's in the dash not the one sitting behind the dash. LOL

sorry couldn't help myself is should be punished.

Posted Jan 01, 2009 · 03:27 UTC#171

Well, with everyone ranting and raving about how good this knob is I guess I will have to get one. But I would really like a black one... Any timeline on when that will be possible?

Posted Jan 01, 2009 · 05:07 UTC#172

Colors will be ready in about 2-3 weeks as well as Stainless (which matches the stock knob exactly.

The colors should be Black, Gold, Red, and Blue and possibly others.

Pictures will be posted when they are ready.
