Wow guys--- isn't anyone out there going for the red ones? Was I the only one, Tom? How about some statistics, maybe organized by geographical area? This could lead to a whole new pysch study...

Even though black seems to be winning, I love my red one (still)

It appears that people prefer Black BY FAR. However I have sold about 6 Red ones so far (see Fred2Yu your not the only one) No Blue and No Gold yet... The Gold is super cool IMHO.

I thought about getting a blue one to match my car, But I already drive a civic and I don't want anyone to see that and start calling me a ricer, So I went with the more upscale look of black!!

I have been eyeing this product since you started making them.

I was going to make one myself, but I wanted it black. Getting a little part like this anodized isn't cheap, and making a steel one & cranking up the blue pot is too much work for a little part.

I just bought a "Black KNURLDED" Knob... WHAT A GREAT PRICE!!!

I have two AVIC900BT's, one of my vehicles has S/Wheel controls. The other vehicle is a pain to adjust the volume.

I don't know how people do it???

Thanks,

Raymond

Yeah people think these things are so easy to make. You need to realize that to make the knob out of aluminum you have to:

1. Get a piece of 2024 Aircraft aluminum bar stock (the expensive stuff that shines the best). Most places have a minimum of $50.00 for material.

2. Machine the parts to plus or minus .001 thousandth of an inch tolerance on the I.D so that it has a press fit. (that is 1/4 as thick as a strand of your hair)

3. Create a knurled surface that has sharp knurl to grip. (No easy task.)

4. Take them to a annodizing shop and have them annodized.

5. Ship them, (and all that entails.)

It really is not as easy as some might think. Trust me, I have been doing this a long time. 8)

FWIW

I understand how tough that can be, especially since you're doing this on your own time with what seems to be somewhat limited resources. Thank you for all that you do. It's great that you took the time to create this nice modification for us.

How many horsepower do you gain with the new knob? :|

Thanks Thomas,

I got mine today and it was a perfect fit. I was amazed at how much more functunal my knob now feels. I have to admit, I was a little dissapointed on how easy it was. I usually like a challenge and this thing just fit's right on, no trouble whatsoever. Thanks for making a great product.

I know it's late, but I just saw your post on your $15 knob including shipping offer. If you're willing, I'll take a black knurled one at that price. If not, I understand.

Your call...

I tend to agree with others' opinion, though, that they're a bit pricey. But hey, this is America; and profit is NOT a dirty word.

Your call...

There you go, ask the guy to extend his very generous offer, THEN, insult his fine work and give him an excuse not to give you a deal. Go to radio shack my friend and buy a cheap plastic knob and some epoxy and feel like u got a great knob! Do you drive an Avenger?
