Sorry to not to reply in spanish, but I think I can explain the situation for you:

Unfortunately, none of the two maps you talking about are compatible with

your unit(avic-f900bt). Reason: the first one, mexico_2008_10.fbl is for the newer

version of iGO(8.3.x.xxxxx), and the othe one - Mexico_2007.07_070815.fbl

is for the previous version of iGO(2006). That doesn't mean there isn't a

Mexico map for the AVIC series out there, we just didn't find it yet...

I hope you can understand or a translate this reply.

Depending for which version of iGO do you need the map; but as I already said

there is no Mexico map floating around for the Pioneer AVIC series. If I came over

an Mexico map, which will work with the AVIC series, you will find it here, or in your

inbox...

Hello guys I'm also interested in Mexico maps. I just go my F500-BT today and will install it over the weekend.

I'm pretty excited about it.

This is the first time ever I have a GPS and I like the multimedia feautures of this one and to b honest I bought it because the voice commands and having the device lets put the maps. If I'm not able to put Mexico maps. I won't use the GPS function, unless I visit the US with my car.

after the blablabla

I'll hack the unit as posted here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18460

I found a webpage https://www.naviextras.com, that sells maps and have Mexico one.

They have a PC software tool to download the file and sent it to the device (a device needs to be selected).

I'm wondering if I get a map for NAVON 350/450 (v8.0.x.y) will it work? Can I buy the map somewhere else?

Josue yo te puedo ayudar a traducir una vez que se consiga el mapa. Apenas acabo de adquirir un F500bt y lo instalaré probablemente el fin de semana.

saludos

Josue, thanks for the link, but there are some problems on the page;

my russian "knowledge" didn't help me thru. But I didn't give up, even

if there's a chance that the maps are for iGO 2006...

TlatoaniFer: To update thru naviextras.com, you need to have a supported

device or the retail software. Navon 350/450 is supported, so you can

purchase the map, if you want to. And yes, the 8.0.x.y version is what we

need for the Pioneer AVIC series. The price for the map should be in the

20-30$ range, if it's aviable standalone. Do not worry about the extras,

elevations, buildings, POI - I have them aviable. Do not hurry with the purchase,

because within a week or so maybe I can figure out something ...

And unfortunately, the map cannot be bought elsewhere...

If you purchase an official iGO 8.0 map, it should work with hacked EZRider on AVIC.

On the site with maps for download, it says that foreign traffic exceeds Russian currently (they have to pay for some data exchange across the border) so you need to look at their advertisers... :)

Find the text that says:

Ðажмите Ñюда, чтобы перейти

look at some ads, and you should be able to download the file...

Or it could be iGO 2006 maps... The easiest way to figure out

what kind of map is: Open the map with notepad. If at the beginning

of the mapfile you see some latin text, that's an iGO 2006 map.

If not, go with the ezrider & licence hack.

I manage to download those maps, too: both are for iGO 2006 :(

I'll learn about the EZ Rider.

Thanks for your support.

Josue no desesperes.

En Naviextras venden mapas y por lo que entendí si fnciona. Sólo hay q aprender como. Al parece puede que no sea necesario comprarlo.

For the moment, it looks like we have to lean on you with the purchase of the map.

Download and install naviextras, even update the software on your Navon device

(if it's is still in the 8.0.x.xxxxx version), then find out what the options are

(price, availability) for the Mexico map. If I can't do anything to happen until next

Sunday, we have to move on - just to agree, how.

Hello guys,

I made my intallation this weekend and working ine. I still need to update the firmware and install the leet launcher. I ordered a SD memory with an usb reader and hasn't arrive yet. I want to make the hack prior to purchase the map.

I don't have the navon device. This one got my attention from the compatibility device list because has the "8.0x.xxxxx" label on it. It also says that is compatible with iGO My way 8.

The map cost 50 Euros... = S It include POIs, elevation..

I need the toolbox from naviextras but works with windows and I have a mac. I'll borrow a pc lap.

I don't want to spend thatamount of money and find it doesn`t work.

Let me see if I understand correctly. With the hacked EZ Rider if the map is compatible I'll be able to make it with this one.

Also my friend that speaks Russian gave me a SD card with a Mexico map but I don't knw what map it contains. I'll find out when I get the sd card reader. Is already delivered at Texas but I need a friend to get her imports and bring it here.

Thanks again for your support and get back to you.

If you will go with leet launcher, you don't need the 8.0.0.xxxxx Mexico map,

since leet launcher doesn't care the the iGO version you are using. You need

the 8.0.0.xxxxx Mexico map only if you want to use the internal Pioneer software.

And BTW, you cannot buy any maps from naviextras, if you don't have one

of the supported devices/software. I will came back with more info this

evening(PST), so if you have some questions, shoot :) . Links will be

included....
