A guru from 4PDA.RU forum had developed an entirely new skin for our navigation. I am reposting it here with permission.

All thanks to Stanislavovich from 4PDA.

Highlights:

Road blocking by time

Deleting individual favorites

Route multiplan

Advanced camera types (set warnings about railroad crossings or speedbumps)

And much more.

Check screens.zip for 65 screenshots.

or download from AVIC411 http://http://www.4s...d.com/file/1301 ... _DATA.html[/url] <------- Updated Sept.4, 2009

This is pretty much a complete rewrite of the skin, so I know of at least a couple issues with it. Feedback is appreciated :)

Updated 07/24/2009.

Updated 23-03-2010:

Savage stuff!!! Fair Play :D I'm going to load it and give it a bash first thing tomorrow. Thumbs up from me!!! 8)

Enjoy. For now, I know that this two things might throw an error (non0fatal but still you have to close the error message):

1. Clicking the Route Functions button without having a defined route

2. Clicking the Camera Speed sign when a speed camera warning pops up.

IMPORTANT

Unless you were running completely stock (on the Navigation end), delete content of the SAVE directory. You can leave favorites.dat but others might cause problems.

wow, can someone make a mirror on rapidshare? i have very limited internet access here at work and the only file sharing site i have access to is rapidshare and the ftp

Posted May 24, 2009 · 22:17 UTC#5

wow, just got a peek of the ui's and i would say that's a whole lot of work, thanks Stanislavovich for the hard work,

now i'm thinking if i want to start incorporating his mods with mine?

Posted May 24, 2009 · 22:35 UTC#6

just tried it and all i can say is wow, this is a very different level of mod, everything is new, so many new features, the ui is totally different, this is more like 8.3 IMO, this would be very hard to incorporate with mine, wow

Yeah, he pretty much rewrote the entire thing from scratch, rather than adding mods on top of it, like we were doing.

I've noticed a couple places where it errors out (non-fatal, though) and let him know. If anyone else sees any errors and can jot down error messages, it would be great, too...

I already started hacking it a bit to put back MSN Direct access, and I might incorporate some of my changes into it (not that it needed much additional functionality, but I like my turn restriction signs to show up even when navigating).

Persistent road blocking is a great feature... I've already blocked enough of the nearest state route that Navi won't send me there during the day (it is always clogged)...

Multiplan is nice, too... Too bad we don't seem to have on-map option for it.

think i'll just grab the features i want, i want to keep all of my buttons on the top part and with all of his other mods it would be very hard for me to figure it all out, i have pretty much browsed everything and found most of the stuffs that i want, right now i'm still trying trying to figure out on where i'll start as i'm not familiar with his new setup

Can I ask what is probably a really dumb question?

In no way do I mean this sarcastically, or in a negative way. But what is the big deal about this skin? What does it do (besides Road blocking by time, Deleting individual favorites

Route multiplan, & Advanced camera types which can all be done in igo8.3.xx except for road blocking by time)

It basically looks to me like my Mio C720t now, what am I missing?

thank you in advance for hopefully giving me a clue!

it has so many features that our current navi don't have which i think would be useful

I loaded the mod and played with it for a little bit. I did not delete the SAVE dir and had no issues with it at all.

There are many more functions than the older style, but I am not too impressed with it. I could probably do without all of the extra menus and configs. Without a manual, I have no clue what some of the other settings are for.

Not much probably, if you are using the Mio (and pretty much any iGO 8.x can do road blocking). The point is that you can have all the functionality in the built-in Navi, without using something like Leet Launcher and losing some of the A/V integration.

this new mod makes the avic alot more functional

It might work with original save data, but not guaranteed, if you were running other mods.

The interface is much closer to original iGO, so it takes some getting used to after the Pioneer's skin. In my personal opinion, being able to use more of the software's functionality (that we paid good money for) is worth it.

In the meanwhile I am going to try to get some kind of added features description from the author and post it in English...

One question,

I dont see a "no voice guidance button" can someone confirm there is one or not?

Posted May 25, 2009 · 06:59 UTC#23

Hi!

I have connected to the forum, so i'll try to give you direct support and fix bugs. sorry for my english, if you find not clear descriptions please give the best i'll correct them.

Please do not push that button, later I disable it. there is some internal interface with avic setup, so it crashes during standard function call. it only to see actual voice profile as I have setup it by ini file directly.

So I think it is not possible to manage voice and language profile through iGO interface, only by avic or by edit ini file.

Without a manual, I have no clue what some of the other settings are for.

Sorry, there is not a manual yet not only in english but also in russian or other ones, So the best way is to ask me direcly here, may be later it could be possible to assembler help from the posts.
