Hey everyone,

Just a reminder that the Pioneer Road Show is this Saturday the 13th! This is where Pioneer will release all the new AVIC Navigation Units.

I'll be flying out Saturday morning to Long Beach, and the show begins that afternoon. Be sure to stay tuned for the latest news and updates. This year I'll have a HD Camcorder with me for some great first hand HD footage!

Thanks Jason! We are looking forward to the updates.

ive heard the changes are as follows

F700 transitions into X-710...with 3.0 software and a black knob instead of the silver

F900 transitions into X910...with 3.0 software and a black knob instead of the silver

Z series is all redesigned with the same look as the X series with built in bluetooth but no 30GB hard drive. its going to be called the Z110.

Hey JasonH can you ask Pioneer when they plan on releasing the new 2009 maps for the Z/N/D series and any kind of info on what the upgrades consist please??? And is it possible to also find out if they are still using TeleAtlas or moving to NAVTEQ

Posted Jun 09, 2009 · 04:02 UTC#8

invitation only...too bad. How do you get to be invited? what does it take to be "invited"... thank you

Posted Jun 09, 2009 · 05:13 UTC#9

Only Pioneer's "Premier" Dealers and press are invited.

Damn, just ordered a F900... Sure hope the 3.0 firmware also supports the "old" unit.

They are still using the TELE atlas maps on the new X-series and the new Z110....dont know anything about them transitioning to NAVTEQ....and even if it is...its definitely not happening this year.

Im sure the 3.0 software will support the older models or perhaps you should upgrade to the ALL NEW Z-series, the Z110. Its really cool and you will love the features and all the new patented technology it comes with, cant wait to get my hands on them...only downfall is that they got rid of the 30GB hardrive

With that said, what about the release dates for these 2009 maps(hopefully upgrade maps), any word on a release date or just have to wait???

What new features are we talking about for the new Z? Voice control of the nav software?

Other than that I really don't see what they would add. I'm hoping to be surprised.

These updates coupled with iPhone OS 3.0 is sending me straight to geek heaven :D

Can't wait to see the videos and updates from the show.

Well they didnt let me touch the unit...bastards...but the interface and software is like the F900 or should i say the new X910 they have new easy to use menu system....where u can drag and drop icons to your quick pick menu...which is kinda like the most recently used sources...for example IPOD, USB, CD, NAVIGATE, HOME, ADDRESS book....and so forth...you can move the icons around on the main menu....kinda hard to explain...there should be a video out for it next week showing how this function works....and then they got the bluetooth builtin with echo cancelling....and i forget the rest...

As for map updates i have no clue...i didnt ask..sorry...

...only downfall is that they got rid of the 30GB hardrive

So does that mean that there is no storage for media at all. So this new z unit will basically be a x/f with a large screen.

If you can record the presentation that would probably answer a bulk of everyone's questions but I would imagine they don't want you doing that.

I'll record as much as I can. I'll find out the specifics once I get there.

Hey guys. Gota question. Does anyone have any info on price for the new units? I wanted to buy a f90bt, but decided to wait 'til the new units come out. Do you think these new units will be cheaper, or around the same price? I've seen the f90bt online from $400-649. thanks :D

Posted Jun 12, 2009 · 23:12 UTC#23

Just herd from my local dealer that the new Z series will price for around 1699.99. Once the line is formally released we should find out soon enough.

Safe travel!!! Cant wait for your updates, but most importantly please ask about any new firmware updates for "last" years models, when they expect and what they corrected. Also if you wouldnt mind bugging them about the rebooting issue wiht the F90bt (and others). Mine is acting up again...

Notice you flew out of Tampa, where in the area are you? I'm Gville and if Tampa would love to visit your business..

take care

Pete
