region chech(MapDBInfo.txt) fixed also.

I D/Led this twice, and get an "Unexpected end of file error" when I first open the file. After opening I see that

there are 8 filesname that are hex strings 32 chars long and do not have CRCs (00000000) or file sizes!

There should be included a .TXT which contains the CRC values,filenames,files sizes and mod dates so I can compare for validity.

Here is what I have.

There is a folder that contains two files > \Utils\cecmd.exe 337,920 (CRC 84058461) and \Utils\AYGSHELL.DLL 22,528 (CRC 0C8BB370)

CopyTool.mscr 1,177 (CRC B09906E2)

MortScript.exe 80,384 (CRC 1D8DCC9C)

NNtestmode.exe 6,144 (CRC 0FF06BC7)

CopyTool.exe 8,192 (CRC 11B20495)

The other 8 files are corrupted since there is no file size or CRC.

EDIT: D/L the file from the MEGA DOWNLOAD site, but still have those 8 files that appear to be corrupt. However now there 8 files in the Util folder.

These files should be 0-length, the file names act as a "key" for your version of firmware to OK entry into testmode (usually one key per release version, but they're all here so the release works with multiple firmware releases). When Pioneer releases a new version of the firmware, usually a new one of these files is required before we can enter test mode again:

When I try to open the testmode file in the first post after downloading it I get an error that says "invalid torrent file". Do you have to do something special to open and extract the file or is it just a bad file?

Try downloading this copy of Testmode_2.3.rar. Some of the ones linked elsewhere seem to be corrupt (bad CRC errors for a few of the files).

This new file also gives me those same errors, I have tried download like 8+ copies of this file from all over this site with no success. Every file I download says that it is corrupt and if I try to use it in my HU nothing happens, any body have a mirror or alternative link to a working file?

aha i know the problem now. I am running firmware 2.009 which is not supported by this testmode.

Could someone please help me with the right testmode files. From what i read in earlier replys to this topic only the 0kb string that checks the firmware level should be added to get it to work...

Whoops, the Wiki entry was stale as far as the description of the archive contents and what you see when you get a successful boot into Testmode when using it. I've updated the Wiki entry.

Wow, I'm really at wit's end here. I've tried everything posted here to get it into testmode and it just won't seem to read any of the files. I did the steps listed here with the two wince.bin and .cks files that worked fine. Stuck the other disk with the testmode files in and hit reset and nothing happens. So I uploaded v2.0006 and v2.0008 from Pioneer and they got my initial menu screen back but it wont' go anywhere from that. No maps, no AV source, etc.

I've downloaded 3 versions of the testmode files since several got that .exe error. The last one didn't but it doesn't read either. Just sits there.

I'm stumped. Anyone with any ideas?

I just pulled mine out and sent it to TurboTunes in Michigan to have them fix it. I was going to send it to Pioneer in SoCal but they charge twice as much. So it's supposed to cost $120 at Turbo. I'll know in a day or so if they were successful in fixing it. If they get it right, they'll also upgrade it to the current OS version which should really help the stability according to folks on this blog.

I'll let you know what I find out.

I have a AVIC-F90BT which is stuck in a loop cycle. I've tried updating with the regular test mode file, however with negative results. I cannot locate a site that contains the test mode file V 2.3. Does anyone have a usable link?
