I had my N3 installed at a stereo shop, and had them by pass the video. after reading on here, I gather all you do is ground the parking brake wire and flip the switch on the unit. When I picked up my truck, there was a toggle switch on the dash that I was told was necessary as well. I fail to see a use for it, but the installer insisted on it's necessity.
AVIC N3 By pass
Ummmm.........., no. Just flip the switch and ground the parking brake wire.
Retail shops will NOT bypass your unit if it will void the warranty. In your case, it will void warranty.

Search isn't my best friend, in fact it's my worst enemy. I hate search.
the reason they insist on the switch is a legality issue to cover their asses. basically all it does is ground and unground the parking brake lead. i have one as well, but i installed mine in the center console so when I get pulled over I just flip the switch and everything acts as normal. it wouldn't be a problem anyways since i dont watch movies while driving around, but just in case. but no you dont actually need the switch to bypass it
The search doesn't tend to work here for me. Sometimes I've typed in the word "Avic" and gotten no results.
you type the word Avic in an AVIC forum search?!?!?! Is it just me, or is that just plain silly?
I got 984 results for avic.....
is the switch under the bracket? saw the pic cant find the switch...
You mean the radio cage? Then yes the switch for the n3 is under a piece of tape under the cage.
