I think were all going to die of old age though before you finally make a decision. ![]()
Pioneer unveils AVIC-X920BT @ CES!
Maybe so.
Money is a major factor right now however tho as well as Pioneer being over a year behind in making a worthy unit. I wish this was happening last year at this time. It would have saved me more money than I can count. I would probably not have felt the need to go after this $1000 processor, being hosed for $1500 on that Kenwood, hell, I might have even not felt the need to go after my $2000 amp (that I paid 800 for). I just wish this stuff held its value better. I'd be lucky to get $600 for that Kenwood now probably although I hope for $800
This is not including all the money I have spent and will spend on installation too. Sigh, it was a rough year in that regard I guess.
A new little tidbit... Just got off the phone with my installer and he mentioned there is a new top of the line unit coming out around May/June called the Z120BT... I didn't get any info on it yet but I am taking my car in tomorrow finally for 'THE INSTALL'. I have been waiting for a while for this appointment. I sure hope I am fully satisfied this time. I mentioned I was excited about a few new Pioneer models and he said they are VERY excited and that Pioneer had some real strong stuff coming for 2010. Last year they only carried the Z110BT and that was it. They really pushed their Kenwood lines as being golden. He said they are going to go hard core with Pioneer this year and mentioned that the likely most pushed setup they are going to go is the one I was thinking about - the AVH-P3200BT with the new hideaway nav module. I was actually quite surprised by his reaction. I was expecting him to start pushing the new 9960 from Kenwood but he didn't even mention it. I guess maybe he wasn't impressed with that unit as much as what Pioneer is doing this year. I am so glad he is going full bore with Pioneer this year as I will be able to see and play with alot of their units and hopefully this time get the right unit that I can be happy with for a number of years. I sure have never been fully happy with this expensive Kenwood that's for sure. It will be interesting to see what a $1500 HU, $2000 amp, $500 speakers and a $1000 processor sounds like. Geesh, I have spent WAY too much money. I guess it had better sound golden as I am promised it will. ![]()

That is right inline with what I expected with an upgrade to the Z110BT. This will likely be a simple software upgrade that we can apply to out units as they did with the previous Z series. Any other installers on this board here this as well?
Pretty interface..., I wonder if Fseries could run this firmware ![]()
FOund the user manual!
Pretty interface..., I wonder if Fseries could run this firmware
There will be no more updates to the F series. Pioneer will be trying to distance themselves as far away from that software platform as they can in the future.
Im not sure why you guys are kinda confused on the features of this navi. Why don't you just read the user manual?
And where do you see a user manual?
any release dates as of now???? I was looking at a 910 but may have to hold off......
DOES HAVING A PRE-AMP OF 2.2V MAKE A SIGINIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY TO RECONSIDER PURCHASING X920bt ?????
Such as unwanted noises, distortion, low volume etc ????????
any release dates as of now???? I was looking at a 910 but may have to hold off......
Our Pioneer rep says it looks like the X920 and the new Z will ship in May. that may change but thats what its looking like right now.
My local Pioneer rep says late April for the X920BT and July for the Z120BT and that is in Canada so I would say you folks in the States should see them a little sooner. Maybe not tho for the first time in memory ![]()
I just lost my D3 last night to thieves!!! (&(*&^^&!!!
I'm confused... Do I put the stocker back in and wait for the X920 or get a Z110 now.... Tempted to wait for the X920 for the better graphics.
I have done 1 night of reading-- Have not been reading much on Avic411 since I bought the D3---looking for opinions from you guys!
Thanks!
The 110 will get the 120 upgrade sometime this summer. The 120 has all of the interface features of the 920. Also we have the leaked manuals to both units on this site. A look through it will give you an idea of what the units will offer.
So it sounds like the only real advantage to the Z is the larger screen? Or am I missing other stuff as well?
Thanks for taking the time to maintain a site like this!
Patrick
Look over the X920BT and Z120BT manuals thread. Someone posted on there the minor differences.
Anyone have any actual ship dates for the X920???
Since I lost my D-3, I'll have to install an old single din. Better order a kit and a new harness adapter...
X920BT just added to Crutchfield site.
Anyone know if Iphone phonebook will work this time?
Am I losing anything coming from a D-3? (Coming from a D-3 NOT by choice...)

Yes, it works great. And you will be gaining quite a bit.
NIIIIce!
Thanks! Now I'm excited to spend money I don't have!
Just bought my x920bt from amazon, discount jungle. says I should get it by Friday. Hopefully it wasn't a mistake, but im excited!
Awesome cranbers. Please do a detailed review when you get it.
I guess Pioneer still hasn't fixed the communication issues eh? How does a release date range anywhere from april to may, yet im getting mine today via amazon, March 25th?
Some things never change, like I said I really hope this thing is worth it, im really looking forward to pandora link with the iphone.
Ill post some sort of vide on youtube in the next few days showing the various features.
Talked to my local dealer about an hour ago, they got 3 X920's in this morning. Should be putting a demo up this afternoon. I will try to go by this weekend to check it out.
"a large 6.1-inch WVGA touch screen display" I tiny bit bigger than the units they released 2 years ago.
I know I'm whinging but why hasn't pioneer looked at maximising the screen size and doing away with the manual buttons ? At least they got rid of the fumbling unresponsive volume / toggle stick.
Why havent they looked at the intuative screen minipulation technology apple have implemented in the iphone/ipod touch?
They've tarnished their "quality" brand recently. Are they being conservative now ?
7.2" Screen please (As big as can fit in 2 din). Get rid of the buttons on the side. There on the wrong side of the unit anyway ![]()
For those that want manual push button controls have a mountable remote. Simple?
My 2 pennys worth.
