I would like to know how to just update the map on my f500bt. I have updated to firmware 2.006000 and curently have map version 01.000600. It is for north america. I'm in canada. How to do it and where to find files would be nice. Thanks in advanced.

Oh ya one last thing. How would I do a backup of my current system. I'm guessing using the test mode that I have not yet installed. Also will the new map update have more poi's. I wanted this gps to find provincial camp ground in canada but it does not have any. Only regular camp cites. Will it update this as well.

Not even one reply. WOW. Ok so I found a file called canada.fbl and one called canada.poi. If I was to just copy the new files over these ones, will it work. I at least want canada's maps and poi's updated. Can it be as simple as copy over the old one's. Thanks.

iGO 8.3 map does not work with iGO 8. The firmware 2 runs iGO8 which means, you cannot just upgrade the map data. You need to upgrade iGO application altogether (replacing APL2 folder).

Btw, I'm in Canada as well.
