Been working on this for a while and reading alot.

To get to the service menu hold Power and Reset for 5 sec.

Passcode is MAP,MAP,MENU,Enter (center of joystick),MENU,Enter

Once in Service Menu the reset button is the only way of navigating. Short push move through options. Push and hold for 1/2 sec selects option.

After sucesfully updating I get to reboot now message. hold power and reset to reboot.

Unit powers on shows slash screen and turns off.

I think if you have the upgrade package http://ds1.downloadtech.net/cn1010/firmware/AVIC_X-Series_Firmware_Update.zipunzip to the root of SD card, and do a had reboot (power down with pressing power button for 5 seconds and power up in same way). It will automatic update everything.

At least this how it works when upgrading to 2.006000 (my WInCE image was upgraded from 6.0.1 to 6.0.5)

Have not dare to try the 3.0-X upgrade on my F500BT, as in the package, it did not mention about F500BT in the PLT upgrade file:

LPUE080PLT.HTM:

[2009 Navigation Platform Release Record]

Product : AVIC-F700BT/AVIC-F900BT

Fri. Apr. 24 12:00:00 2009

Release File : PLT

Release Version : 6.2.1.9

only the LPUE080APL.HTM contains F500BT info:

[2008 Navigation Application Release Record]

Product : AVIC-F500BT/F700BT/F900BT

20090623 10:09

Release File : APL

Release Version : 3.010100 20090623

I may try the APL portion only later this week.

Possibly Bricked after Win CE upgrade.

When I plug in the AC power cable BT light illuminates. Power button does nothing, one press or holding down. CAnnot get back into Service menu either. Going to test on the car dock, but not looking good.

I saw on here a post on how to bypass the over ride on the 500bt. Any help would be great. Thanks

Posted Jul 20, 2009 · 23:42 UTC#7

Back on the car dock I was able to get back in to the service menu and restore the PLT files from the Pioneer F500BT 2.0 release. Back to square on but not bricked.

What bypass are yall speaking of? I am using a modified data.zip with software bypass, speed set to 128. Is that it?

Good to hear man. Do we need to update to the newest WinCE to use the map and POI files in the x910bt

Example -> x910bt.zip\IDT_v3.5\My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\CONTENT

yeah I swapped all the POI and MAP and new licence files over and it will now work without the proper licence file with the IGO8 and leetloader.

DId you just try the map in the flash drive on the unit? Or was it with the IGO8?

edit: I ordered the CD150 update from poineer, but it would be nice to test it out first :-)

Tried to put APLs from 3.0 package from http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751 on my F500BT (with 2.00600).

Didn't work, unit stuck at Flashscreen. Fortunately, I can still get back to TestMode, restored from my backup.

Have some one tried with this to upgrade to 3.01 on F500BT with version 2.00600:

(Reference: viewtopic.php?p=135213)

1. Extract LPUE080 to root of SD Card from the Avic-X 3.01 package, remove the PLT portion as it's not compatible with F500BT.

2. Extract restmode (2.3) to the SD Card root.

3. Boot into TestMode

4. run LPUE080/APL/update.exe in testmode.

would this work?

Hi Arbies,

Did you swapped the whole APL2 or just the map. As I notice, the EZRIder.exe on 3.0 is Igo 8.3.2.23803 and on 3.1 is Igo 8.3.2.24603. And the one we have on F500BT is 8.0.

I assuming the maps comes with the 3.0 torrent download http://itchybot.com/x910bt.zip.torrent should be also for IGO 8.3. if so, without upgrading ezrider.exe under APL2, the maps may not work on F500BT.

Thanks

Ill try swapping the whole flash drive tonight.

Apperantly neither updating Win CE nor APLs alone will work. Hopefully upgrading both will work out properly. Would you please share your steps regardless the end results.

Thanks in advance.

I think the guy who posted this thread tryed it and it would not work. I think the problem is we need to update the WinCE before we can load the 3.0 update. I dont know enough to mess around. I dont want to brick my GPS.. hehe

I am trying all day long, but so far no success. What I did is to merge data.zip from generc 8.3 and data.zip from the update .It is all about skin configuration in data.zip\ui_pioneer\ui in my opinion. I managed to make it start from the flash disk, but is somehow crappy as you can see on the attachment and pioneer shell is getting stuck

Although LeetLauncher is not perfect yet, but the good thing is, you can leave you F500BT untouched, just run everything off the SD Card.

Read thru this thread, if you want learn more about LeetLauncher teaking:

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18522&hilit=leetlauncher

This is the short path to start:

1) Download LeetLauncher here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18522#p123463

2) Download TESTMODE 2.3 here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25367#p172474

3) Delete ALL files in Leet's testmode folder and replace them with the Testmode 2.3 files

4) Open CopyTool.mscr in notpad and erase all the text (optional, but makes it much faster)

5) Add this code to CopyTool.mscr and save:

Run(SystemPath("ScriptPath")\"..\LeetLauncher\LeetLauncher.exe")

I also cleaned up the speedcam.txt that comes with LeetLauncher 3.0, otherwise. it's going to take about 7 minutes to load all the NorthAMerica and European speedcam info from the text file.

Extract DEM, MAP, POI, BUILDING files from the torrent 3.0 package and copy to your SD Card to \iGo8\Content.

Put the SD Card into your F500BT, do a hard reboot. it should work.

BTW, I also put the generic world license file + the license file from the 3.0 package. This should not matter as LeetLauncher already comes with a license file.

You can also download the latest igo8.3.2 executable PNA version from other forums,I tested a few builds, they all work well.

I have LeetLauncher running nice from my SD card, but I wanted to have igo 8.3 running from my flash drive together with the pioneer shell. I like the voice control, which doesn't work together with LeetLauncher. Also zoom- in and out with hardware keys is pretty good feature.

I wanted that too :), did not work well yet. I tried to leave my WinCe as is of from the 2.00600 upgrade. And replace the whole directory of APL2 from the 3.0 torrent download. The IGO8.3.2 will launch fine. However, it only loads the base map. I think we needed an hacked version of EZRIDER.exe 8.3.2 that can takes generic license to make this work.

I noticed someone already put request on PPCWAREZ. Hope something will come up soon.

I also replaced the whole APL2 folder and the system is getting stuck on the startup ( win ce 2.00600)

Try to replace ezrider and license from generic igo8.3 ( need to rename igo8 to ezrider) and I think you should be able to see the maps.

Mine starts up properly, even the Navigation app starts, only problem is it can only load the Base Map.

Try to update your sys.txt to set the Device type properly.

For US version of F500BT, it should be

[device]

type="PIONEER749UC"

BTW, I also tried the igo8.3.2 generic version by renaming it to EZRider.exe, although the Main Menu do show up, but the "System Starting up in Progress" never go away. Basically, you can not do anything.
