Hi, I purchased the 3.02 map upgrade. I am now trying to boot in test mode. I can not boot any longer from the cf card.

I contacted Pioneer and they told me that booting off of the cf card has been disabled.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks!

Which version of testmode do you have? I have 3.02 and I can boot to testmode all day long.

I'm using 2.3 testmode.. ( http://www.cdrpro.co.uk/testmode.zip ).

Running 3.020200 version :-)

Try the above one.

There is no 3.020200 in the US. The currant update here is 3.020100 so that may be the issue. Contact forum member carver. He is the one that made testmode work on 3.0.

The latest Pioneer update for the F series IS 3.02002. I just purchased and updated my unit with it over a week ago.

Posted Mar 11, 2010 · 15:57 UTC#6

That version is not available for download on the website. The latest version available for download is 3.020100. Anyway, have you run testmode 2.3 on it yet?

I just did the 3.02 update on 2 F90BT's and I can not get into test mode on either of them. I am going to roll it back to 3.01 if possible. I will not go with 3.02 at all, that is some BS from Pioneer.

I stand corrected! I was able to get into CE mode on mine, but not my wife's. So I am going to try to do the 3.02 upgrade on my wife's Xterra again, hoping that it does the trick. I did mess with the data.zip file before I did the update on her vehicle. That might have been the problem. Hopefully the update will go through, since it is on there right now, it does say version 3.02, so I do not know. I may have to roll it back to 3.01 and then do the 3.02 upgrade again. Not fun.

What is the full version number you are talking about? Version 3.020100 runs testmode without problem.

Posted Mar 14, 2010 · 17:14 UTC#9

Version 3.020100 is what the download says.

On the unit in my car I can access test mode, just not in the wife's. I need to know if there is a way to roll it back to a previous version. That would be great, so then I could try to get the update properly done on the wife's vehicle.

Copy your flash disk contents to her unit.

I would have done that if I could have gotten into test mode to access CE, but it was not letting me into that at all. I had to reinstall 3.0, then reinstall 3.01, and then reinstall 3.02. What I did wrong was doing the software bypass before installation of 3.02. Now that I have reinstalled 3.02, I can access test mode and CE, did the software bypass, and then made the Navi warnings go away, talking about annoying.

Sorry to have thread jacked, just needed to find some help somewhere with my problem. I started a topic about it, had 11 views and no one offered up anything.

Back to the topic of this thread. 3020200 is the Europe update, and is not available in the US at all. If you live in the states and have this update, I would imagine that it is going to tell you that your in the US but operate really weird like. If you live in Europe then congrats.

I have the Pioneer 3.02002 for the US in my hand right now, and installed on my F700bt about 2 weeks ago. Yes, I purchased it from Pioneer, it came with the new maps. I can get into test mode no problem, and I am running Diaftia's mod. Just came back from a trip to Charlotte, N.C. (from and back to NE Florida). The only problem was a 32Gig memory stick full of music, the unit didn't want to read it (imagine that). Otherwise the U.S. and Canada version 3.02002 IS available and works fine.

Are you talking about 3.020200 or 3.02002?

Posted Mar 23, 2010 · 03:22 UTC#14

I've been off this forum for a few months - but is 3.02 the same as what I bought from Pioneer in July and then was shipped in August? Maybe it was 3.02 but I was thinking it was simply '3.0'. I went to Pioneer's website (specifically for the F90BT) and when I clicked on the update tab:(http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... 90BT?tab=F) , there was only downloadable updates for 2.0, nothing at all for 3.0. 3.0 isn't even mentioned in the firmware changelog!

What is 3.02 and/or 3.0202002 (or whatever)? Just tell me I don't have to buy it too!

Posted Mar 23, 2010 · 03:30 UTC#15

3.0 is purchase only.

3.0 is purchase only.

I have 3.0 - and I purchased it. I'm asking about 3.02 - or is it the same. If it helps, I have the very first run of 3.0. I'm not sure if that is 3.0, 3.01 or 3.02....

All updates from there are free of charge. Once you upgrade to 3.0, you no longer have an F series unit. You now have an X series unit and that is the section of the web site you need to check.

i updated my f700bt to 3.0 without a problem

i learned a lot from this forum, and did it without a hitch

i was able to get IDT skin #2 v3.0 on my system, and love it

i was even able to get navteq and tele atlas maps on my system, and the switching utility worked perfectly

(once i updated my ezrider to a modified version)

i ran the 3.2 update this morning, which went without a hitch

i installed the mod again, and copied the modified ezrider that i was using over, replacing the one that the update installed

now when i try to switch to the navteq maps, it tells me that i do not have a license

is this a limitation of the ezrider.exe that i am using, as i never got this message before the 3.2 update

or do i need to now install a license file as well?

update:: i tried copying over the generic license file "[email protected]" and it did not help .....hmmm

Dont know but you should not have updated your unit without knowing weather it was going to cause a problem with your mod or not. Especially sense the creator of the mod will be doing no updates to his mod in the future. Your likely screwed. Good luck however.

i agree...but the only real issue it gave me is that i could not switch maps...so i would not call it screwed ;)

i was able to figure it out, appearantly the ezrider and the license file were not meshing....i did some searching, found the latest version...and when i copied it over...viola!

Posted Mar 31, 2010 · 20:11 UTC#22

Well good deal. I wouldn't update again though.

Posted Mar 31, 2010 · 21:13 UTC#23

sstrange,

can you hook me up with a copy of your backup....my SD card went corrupt and I upgraded to 3.0201. My unit keeps rebooting every 3 minutes and has a bar at the bottom saying "start up in progress...please wait." I can't do anything on it until I can get into test mode. I pretty much need to do the same thing you did so could you or someone help me out?!?!

Thanks

I haw same problem, testmode not working, system freezing with message about problems with maps. Can anybody help me. How to get testmode, i try all versions of testmode available in this forum???

Just upgraded my HU to the latest version of firmware, 3.02 got it from the Pioneer website. I think if you are planning to upgrade you need to make the unit look stock...meaning no modifications, that would be the safest way for the update to go flawlessly, that's how I did it.
